I continue to be concerned about the missing £700, but at least my ISA is ticking up slowly and it's less than 10 working days 'til Christmas after today.
It can't come soon enough - thoroughly hacked off with 20090 -
Does anyone else feel tired more easily in winter? I barely woke up all day and am still feeling like a good snooze.
Not a great day on the DFW front - ended up paying towards a colleagues' birthday present. I like the guy, but I really dislike the colleague who asks oh so cheerily 'it's x's birthday next Tuesday - should we get them a little present?' I suspect it's alright when you live with your parents and earn £40k.... This happens roughly once a month. You would think that people would show a little more tact during the worst recession in years...
Managed to stick a few pounds in my sealed jar. Have to go to a work Christmas lunch tomorrow, but at least it's a reasonably priced buffet. I will be on the soft drinks and will be going home early to get a rest (although I will no doubt seem like a 'penny pincher' to the others who are going off to a winter fair). Have come to the realisation that I no longer feel embarrassed being thrifty - after all, an afternoon spent in the company of work colleagues that costs me money sounds like a terrible idea under any circumstances :rotfl:0 -
9 days left in the office 'til Christmas!
The missing £700 has re-appeared!
I'm getting an inflation-busting 7.5% pay rise?!!0 -
Back from work ridiculously early from our work lunch (which only ended up costing me £9!)
Have managed to pay £7-8 into my sealed jar as a result of this cheaper than expected meal and have also transferred another £5 or so into my ISA.
Must destroy debt and build wealth
Right - off to read the FT.0 -
Evening Ed. Hows you?
Well done on the payrise thats pretty fab :TProud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Thanks Doodle - pretty chuffed about it - will mean an extra £85 a month after tax etc. This I can put to good use
How's you? Busy in the land of MFWs?0 -
Alls good thanks Ed, work is chaos though but all good fun :TProud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

I wish it was Christmas already
Just about managed to drag myself into work this morning, but feeling unexplicably exhausted. I'm contemplating buying a lamp with a daylight frequency bulb as I feel like a bear with a sore head (who should be hibernating). I like winter, but the poor light conditions aren't so much fun.
Some exercise would probably help as well, something that the GF and I mean to look into seriously in the new year (thinking badminton or something relatively gentle like that).
Managed to withdraw £12.40 from Butlins bingo and paid £7.40 into my ISA and will probably pay in the other fiver when it gets closer to the end of the month. Also have a few quid in shrapnel for the sealed jar tonight (the remnants of yesterday's cheap lunch fund). Have got my lunches sorted out for today and tomorrow, so hopefully aiming for NSDs Friday through Sunday
Feeling one day closer to financial freedom - after all, isn't that what we're all aiming for at some point?
Right - must buckle down with some work and stop planning how to save my new wages!0 -
Having a pretty good afternoon after I asked my boss whether compressed working might be an option in the new year and she said that it wasn't an issue for her...
Four day weeks would be so sweet!0 -
Two weeks 'til Christmas everyone!
Get out yer mistletoe....
Short day at work today, then rushing home to hide from the freezing fog.
My NSD has turned into a 'why the hell did I spend £4 on breakfast day?' Ah well - I've been good over the last couple of months, I possibly deserved it. I will keep the change for my sealed jar.0
