You sound really organised and like a thoroughly nice bloke!

    Why thank you :o

We will be doing most of the things that you suggested, but it's perhaps just a little early for a September finish? She has a very strong CV ( both in terms of experience and the fact that it's visually very neat and well laid out). In addition to that, there are a few agencies for library and information work in London and while they're sometimes a little slow (I guess all agencies are), they did get her a job last time! I'm confident that she'll get good references from all employers, so that's one more thing to tick off the list.

There isn't much she can freelance at (most of the jobs we've done have a fairly specific skillset and are typically based on site in a library/information centre), but I'm sure she'll be up for some free clicks/free scratch cards/reviewing/eBay etc. if and when she needs to keep the wolf from the door. She can't really be bothered with this at the moment as she has very low debts that are managed well and a good salary and I can appreciate that not all of us are willing to spend half our free time faffing about on the Internet!
Haven't read through the whole thing yet but am sure I'll be back with some tips

Thanks Lilian - you seem to be a pretty hardcore saver, so any ideas would be appreciated :T

I'm good! Powered through the housework (kitchen/bathroom/hoovering) and just sitting down to relax with a good book. Roast pork with mashed sweet potatoes and roast peppers for dinner, most of which we made yesterday.

Got a mighty £6.25 from Quidco this month, already paid into my savings. It's sometimes a bit higher, but I haven't been spending much of late :D

Dentist tomorrow - first time in almost 3 years :( I've never had a filling and my oral hygiene is quite good, but I'm a little worried as I left it so long. I suppose the fact I'm finally going is a positive, as I'm on top of my monies enough not to be terrified by the bill?

Hey all - how's everyone enjoying their snow day (if you got one)?

I went out with the GF, built a near 7' snowman in the park and had welsh rarebit, eccles cakes and hot freshly brewed coffee to shake off the chill. Have to admit we were naughty and spent ~£5 on food extras, but this is cheaper than our lunches for a day at work so I'll not feel too guilty.

I should still get paid for my day absent (officially 'working from home') and I made £7 on eBay selling an old PC game that I'd forgotten about entirely! This has been paid straight into the savings.

Speaking of the savings, those clowns at Intelligent Finance have slashed my rate to 2.75%, which is a waste of time. It's capped as 1% above the base rate minimum until December, so hopefully won't go lower than 2.5%.

I love how the banks are punishing savers by eating into their income purely and simply for the reason that they're not making the sort of inflated money they were 12 months ago when credit still existed. It's very frustrating being punished for the mistakes of the sub prime sector, bankers and those who took more than they should have when the times were good :(

Teehee - I'm the exact opposite. Although driving lessons are on my to do list for when I'm a debt free entrepreneur... Ok, the debt free part will do for the mo

I live in a small village and there are two buses a day to where I work and they are at 10ish and come back at 3ish lol. Not well thought out for the daily commuters lol.

Not so good! It looks like my train is back on tomorrow - boo! I suppose I can't complain - free day off work and we're going out for dinner in London tomorrow and then to the Opera :) Not bad for a total cost of £30 between us before wine and tip, eh?
