Up bright and early this morning and feeling much better after yesterday (poisoned myself by drinking two large mugs of strong coffee in about half an hour for some unknown silly reason!) :o

Got all my banking done and am starting to see some light at the end of the skintness tunnel. Paid off another £30 from my debts, paid off our old electricity and gas suppliers (we switched, saving £150 a year) and will have enough money to book our trip in February.

We were meant to be going to Basel, but Ryanair changed both of our flights by 7+ hours and didn't communicate this fact to me in any way  So, will be going to Brussels on the Eurostar instead (we can get a direct train to St Pancras from our local station, so should be able to get to Brussels in 3 hours from our door) :)

Six and a half hours to go, then up the road to get an early start on the housework.

Ok, so the housework was ignored :D

Relaxing playing Restaurant City with a Diet Coke and planning Halloween dishes for tomorrow - pork and pumpkin pies and sweet pumpkin pie methinks...

Completed another Valued Opinions survey and discovered that I'm frustratingly close to a payout - 5p off!

Wow - it seems like it's already Christmas time at the shops!

Managed to pick up two stocking fillers in TK Maxx for the grand total of £2.50. One of them was a really nice tin with mini jars of strawberry and champagne chutney, real ale chutney, cider and horseradish mustard and clotted cream fudge.... for £1! :D

Yup - I baked a pumpkin pie and carved a kitty pumpkin lantern and we had a tasty buffet dinner (samosas, garlic bread, salads, cheese and things). Very tasty.

Currently having a couple of small glasses of wine and watching X-files episodes for the spookiness while Spookersons (our cat lantern) watches on :D

    And you?

Today has been a relaxed whirlwind of cooking and cleaning (I'm such a housework nerd!) The pumpkin and pork pies are finished and smell great - should make for a great lunch tomorrow.

Was reading up on some work stuff and it transpires that I can request a £385 salary advance from work for Christmas. This put me in an interesting predicament - I don't need it to pay for Christmas (that's budgeted for), but there are another couple of things that I would like to get out of the way. I'd like to book up for my brother's stag do now and also it would be great to pay back my GF the £200 I owe her :o

Think I may take the advance as I can afford it easily (it gets deducted back from January's pay) and start the year with a clean slate re. trips/loans/wacky financial schemes..

Hello my little housework nerd lol.

Good idea about the advance, I would go for it as long as it won't leave you short in Jan.

Hello my little housework nerd lol.

Best greeting I've had in ages :D

Yeah, I double checked the figures and the advance won't leave me too short in Jan. Scarily enough, it will mean I have £1000 to spend in December, which is a first! Must remind myself not to spend it all on sweets.
