I signed up to Talktalk in October after their cold call and unkept promises and like everyone else it has been a nightmare though I must admit, not as bad as some on here. I am not going to bore anyone with my sad little story but would like to thank everyone who has posted on here as it has given me some help in how to proceed to try and get it sorted.

I can't even register on their forum as it doesn't recognise me but have done what the TalkTalk representative said to do and filled in the contact us bit at the bottom of the forum.

I am at the point that if I cannot get any satisfaction this time I am complaining to Ofcom, TalkTalk's CEO and failing a satisfactory result, requesting a mac code as they are in breach of contract.

Requesting a mac code frightens me to death though after reading what has happened to others on this site to the effect that they've been cut off and stuck without any services. It's ok the rep saying that this shouldn't happen - but it obviously is!

  • I ordered phone and broadband for my daughter who is a vulnerable adult also reg blind, to cut a very long and expensive story short, due to them failing to arrive I rang customer services, the girl was so rude that we decided to cancel the order,as my daughter would never cope with that attitude if she needed to phone them. We were told 3 times the order was definatly cancelled, yet an engineer has still turned up to install the line, she turned him away but still got a text saying her line is up and runnning and gave her the landline number all within 4 weeks!! this has caused her a lot of distress, it seems if you want a landline from talk talk quickly then cancel it!!!! I don't know who is paying for the installation or line but my daughter is not!!!

    Hi savemoney,

We do have a marketing list which we can request your details to be removed from. As you are not a TalkTalk customer I can not request this myself as I would have required you to register on the members forum. You can however contact the data controller who is responsible for all information we hold on you. Their details are in section 15 of our code of practice.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi shazza71,

I understand your frustration but as this forum is not maintained by TalkTalk it is not possible for me to help with specific account issues. I can only direct you to our members forum to provide further assistance.

Raised a complaint with my provider Ontel (talk talk) company. Now raised a complaint with TPS as I am registered with them also

I am seriously considering filtering my calls via a hardware call screening

    Hi Mystyfied,

I am sorry to hear about the problems you have had and that the order was cancelled but the line was still activated. We record all our calls so should be able to confirm the cancellation. If the account is cancelled then this would prevent you from registering on the TalkTalk Members forum so you would need to contact our customer service line if you have any account specific queries.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  • I have the name ,date and the office they worked from who assured me the order was cancelled, my daughter has a voice mail on her phone assuring her the order was cancelled and no engineer would call, and the original cancellation was done by her ( after they refused to take a cancellation from me, even tho she had rung to confirm I had permission to act on her behalf) They did admit to me she had given permission but refused to take the cancellation from me) her two calls were made from a social services day centre in the presence of professional staff. Sorry to say after numerous phone calls to TalkTalk and the distress this has caused Ofcom has now offered to contact Talk Talk on our behalf. This can only help to improve TalkTalk customer service.
But thank you for your response.
