We would also have liked a leather sofa, but ended up with fabric as we needed a futon sofa bed!

How's life in the debt busting a gogo world of mizmir today?

:mad::mad::mad: Bloody bank! Just checked internet banking and the last payment for the sofa which had gone out yesterday so I cancelled the DD - they have only gone and reversed it!! So now I will have to dig around and contact the company to find out details of making the payment again. Damn and blast. Waste of time. Wish they wouldn't list something as paid when it isn't really!

Anyway on the positive note the nearly £400 expenses and the £1.01 (!) from quidco have come through so will get those paid off the card.

Why on earth would they reverse the payment (unless you had actually paid it off last month and didn't realise and therefore this was an un-needed extra payment!)

Think the bank have done this because I cancelled the DD. But I cancelled it after the payment was showing as paid so didn't mean them to cancel that one! Will ring hitachi and see what is going on. Would be nice if had already paid it off but I don't think I have!

Well what a shambles! Rang number on the credit agreement - no record of name, address, anything (so who's had my money for the past 2 years??!). Credit agreement has no number on it. Ring the bank - they give me a reference number but not in the form the credit company can trace. No other number available apparently!
By this time getting frustrated - rang DFS who sold the sofa. Bingo! Within minutes gave me an account number and the number to ring - seems like a different company to the one on the credit agreement?:confused::confused: But they had the account and it is now officially all paid off! Phew! :T Of course it would've been nice if someone had sent me that information at some point but full marks to DFS store for a good record system and nil point to credit company for theirs.

At least I did it all at local rate calls using saynoto0870! :T

Well done on getting it sorted out, but  on the hassle! At least you know it is all sorted out and that amount is well and truly gone from your debts!

Yes - I guess I could have left it as I am sure they would have "found" me if I did owe them money but didn't want to risk a default on an account - especially as we have one eye on possibly moving in the next year or two.
