Job Interview with DWP

The problem is that other users on here who have started their training have said that people with scores of 20 and 21 have also started their training, so I don't think the interview scores matter. It might just depend on whether your local jobcentre has room to take people on, or, if ANY jobcentre wants to take you on.0

It was dated 29th november but still nothing. i've called them 3 times and it seems my merit postion has changed from 52 to 62 to now a pitiful 83. my checks are still ongoing so i doubt i'm gonna hear anything from them. I'm so angry with the dwp right now. I'm struggling to understand why the people resposnible for managing employment in the UK have the most atrocious recruitment process. what a farce!
Plus after reading some of the previous posts i have now accepted that i'm probably never gonna get this job. I just regret that it has consumed so much of my time, energy and thoughts. The dwp havea knack of leading people on, given you a false sense of security to cover up their short comings and utter incompetence.
what moron would tell 600 people they have a job when you only have the capacity to hire 100, a 5 year old could tell you something was wrong!!!
ok rant over, i feel much better now.
i feel your pain, someting told me from the begining that this was gonna take VVEERRY long so i started applying for any vacancy i see on the net jus to get me by, luckly i started a job 3 weeks ago and this is making the long wait less stressing(wouldnt mind staying here but is a short-temp). without this i think the DWP would've been in a lot of trouble with me b'cos you can't tell people your successfull and then say 'Sorry' we can't emply all of you guys only some, after a long waiting period thats just STUPID (seriously). anyways not long to go now b'cos im hearing they'll contact us before the end of this month. if not we should organise a large protest againts them, foolish peple (the dwp).:mad:0 -

Was told by my friend today that they have quite a few AO's starting on the 10th Jan. This is a South London JC
Still have had no phone call which I am taking as I am gonna be one of those they tell they have no vacancies to offer me as of the moment and then I will never be contacted!0 -
I wonder what will happen to all those still not given a position by January. Also does anyone know how Many have already been recruited for IRC 62979

Sorry for taking so long to reply back on this thread, I couldnt find the page again lol.
Guys seriously...DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THIS MERIT LIST. In simple terms, its !!!!!!!!. It exists, but serves no purpose whatsoever. As I previously mentioned, I was placed some 400 on this 'list' and am now in my second week. I think its purely a way to fob people off 'yeah your number 500-now dont call back' lol. Its !!!!!!!!. Do not spend your time worrying. On my first day of training, I saw so many peoples' scores on their sheets and saw ranges from 19 to 34. It is no indication of anything..just a simple admin procedure they have to use to mark peoples interview techniques etc...0 -
Hello fellow 62979ers!
For those of us yet to here any news, I found a song which exactly epitomizes our hopeless situation and in the spirit of things I thought I'd share it with you;

Hi, first time posting here but i have read through alot of this thread and others!
Here's my timescale of application so far for an EO job.
Applied: 25th Nov
Emailed about online test: 8th Dec
Sat test online: 12th December
Recieved a letter with Interview information and Disclosure Scotland form included: 22nd December
Interview scheduled for 6th January, but got a phone all today (5th) saying it had to be postponed because of the snow. I was expecting it to be postponed a few days but now its re-scheduled for the 27th January!!!
Do you think this means now that the time between interview and hearing back from them will be faster or slower?
Any tips for my interview then? i've read all about the S.T.A.R. tactic and about my competencys but my worry is that i havent held an IT job before and the only things i can refer to are part time jobs and University!
Hope this thread is still going, thanks!0
