I have passed the numeracy and literacy tests last Thursday. I really want this job and have my interview next Saturday. What sort of questions will they be asking me. I get really nervous at interviews but know I could do the job. So really want to shine. Can anyone help??

I had an interview yesterday for the position of an Exec Officer. Passed the Literacy and Numeracy - phew.. Was quite basic actually! Anyway, does anyone know what the points system is for the interview? As I saw my file, and the top sheet had marks for each competency - I was given an '8' for all of them apart for one which I was given '7' for - is this good?? Is there a pass mark? I hope IF I am given the job, they don't put me on a waiting list!! - I'd be gutted, really need a job, really want THIS job!
  • Hey, I still haven't heard anything :(

Is it worth giving them a ring?

    Anyone else heard anything?

I have been sent a letter seperate from my CRB form asking for 'urgent information' (evidence of me working for 3 years)...

I have given this in interview.

Anyway, they also want me to sign and date a form, which I have done. They asked me to post it back in the envelope provided...

But there is no envelope and I have no idea who t talk to.

I'm sorry... But I am at the end of my tether for this. They seem so disorganised, the admin is terrible, what an embarassment!

I am trying over and over to call the office number provided, but nobody is answering (to be honest, the person last time got my name and disability requirements wrong for interview, so I am worried about my issue being dealt with). If I hang up to try again, it is engaged.

What the f*ck is going on???

    I am so fed up...

It's a standard letter. I too was asked to sign something and return it in the envelope provided. I didn't recive either, so rang to confirm. i was told just to 'ignore' that bit. So there, you can ignore it, you don't need to sign and return anything at this stage.

I think that because so many people are posting on here, it's making everybody paranoid. The DWP will get through to us all when they are able. We should just all sit tight and be good boys n girls, and everything will be OK!

Yeah. It's a massive recruitment exercise and inevitably, there'll be glitches. My advice is to try to ring about 8.30am, when it seems easier to get through.

It's frustrating, but for those who've had 'success' letters rather than 'waiting list' letters, you WILL have a post soon when all the admin's done.

Do you work for the DWP, or is this just from past experience?

I've rang up twice to get further info, and both times the lady on the telephone has been great, but has been unable to provide the information I require. I understand why though, so I haven't been arsey with her.

I can't get my redundancy release until I get a concrete job offer, so I'm gagging for it(!)

Lol, no, I am trying to work for DWP. It's all from the recruitment experience.

I've spoken to them 4 times on the phone, once I rang at 8.40am and got straight through (prob cos most people assume offices open at 9), the other times I've tried during the afternoon and it took persistence!

On the phone they've been able to tell me what my interview mark was and what position I am on the waiting list. Other stuff such as feedback has to be requested in writing. I understand why this is, it's a bit long-winded to take people through their applications by phone. In general I've only phoned when I've had specific questions, the rest of it is just a waiting game. As I am 'waiting list' rather than 'success', this IS a bit frustrating, but there's nothing much anyone can do about that.

I am also waiting for interview dates for 3 more EO posts, have sent off 5 AO competency choice forms and have applied to do the HEO test.

So it's ALL waiting, waiting, waiting....with no guaranteed result.

Ah ok... So I don't have to do anything?

Could you please post the number up that you called?

I already sent my CRB off.
