Scary Spiders Firstly congratulations on passing!!
I have my interview next week for a EO postion and was hoping you maybe be able to give me a few tips and if you remembered the question you were asked?
Any help would be much appreciated my competencies being assed are as follows
Leading through Change – Level 1
Engaging Effectively with Customers- Level 2
Building Constructive Working Relationships – Level1
Making Best Use of Resources- Level 1
Thank you - i am well chiffed, just hope the checks go thru swiftly.
I got asked:
1. Can you explain a situation when you contributed to a teams performance and did well.
2. Explain a situation when you had to implement a change.
3. Explain a situation when you have had to train/instruct another person.
4. Explain a situation when you have had to work with others.
Basically they will have no information about you - not even seen your application, they have a break down of the competencies and tick them off as you explain how you fulfill them. If you haven't given them enough information they will probe you further - to get all the information. All I can say is try to make your answers a bit out of the ordinary - I've been in the forces for the past 12 years and so my examples were more out of the ordinary and they actually said they liked that as they were getting a little tired of the same answers (well it seemed to work for me)
I took in cards with bullet points, and used the STAR (situation, task, action, result) format that someone had posted on this site and they liked that.
Good luck
where is your interview?0 -
Hey there, I had an interview for a EO position last week, the questions they asked me were:
1) Tell me a time when you have promoted excellent customer service to a team
2) Tell me a time when you have improved a teams performance
3) Tell me a time when you have led through change and
4) Tell me a time when you have worked as a team to achieve something..
They also asked me a load of follow on questions (which I think is bad..lol)
I have another interview next week for an EO just different area of country, and if anyone wants to share a successful example of improving performance I would be very grateful (think I really messed this one up and need some inspiration).
Thanks Chloe.. x0 -
Just wondering if anyone knows how it works if i've already passed the tests and am on a waiting list and then apply for another role with them? xx0

Got the Literacy and Numeracy tests this afternoon. What did people wear to these? What was the men/women split like at the tests?

On a Saturday? Blimey.
Don't worry about what you wear at the test, only the interview. If your test is anything like mine, there'll be about 150 people, probably equally split between men and women.:idea:0 -

Wow, 150? Is it all in the same room then?
Setting off in half an hour, spotted all the errors in the Literacy practice questions and got the Numeracy right without a calculator so hoping I should be ok today!October Comp Wins -Stella Artois Challice (FB)0 -

This was in London, mind, in a big hotel in Euston. I don't know if they all follow that format.
Good luck anyway, BazzaB. If you did well in the practice you should be OK, but watch out for the timing. The speed with which you have to do them is the most difficult part about it, in my opinion.:idea:0
