The news report says the staff will be paid during the closure and that they were looking to sell the business as a going concern.

Must be uncertain for the staff, but some hope for them at least

Someone i know paid 1000 pounds for a sofa and was told he wont get the goods.. so he went in 2 days ago and took 1000 pounds in goods..

They called the police and the police are dealing with it but if he has paid them 1000 pounds then he should be alloowed to take the 1000 pounds...

he has not been arrested yet.. wierd

and he has the goods at home...

Can anyone tell me what the situation is with an interest free credit deal we have in place with Courts.

Do we still have to pay?
Can they say you had a 3 years interest free deal (of which we have only had 9 months) but now we want all our money, (or something like that)?

interest free deals are normally through a finance company, check the paperwork and see who it is Lombard or firm like that then give them a call I think you should be find.

Good luck to the person that took 1000 pounds worth of items 2 days ago.........but if he had waited for the 75% off sale he would have got a lot more

But if the worst comes to the worst and he is charged with theft of 1000 pounds in goods he can ask for 75% off for clever behaviour

  • I've been down again this morning and the store has a notice on saying that it is closed until further notice. I suspect they'll open Monday, but as we'll be at work all the bargains will be snapped up by the time we return from our daily grind.. the dining table sat there on the shopfloor that we have ordered will be in some lucky buggers dining room.

We've been and purchased a dining table elswhere now, as we need one for Xmas. I just hope we successfully chargeback for the cost of the lost one from Courts.

Good luck to any staff from Courts, Christmas of all time to worry about losing your job :(
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
  • i think its silly the way the administrators have dealt with this....just shows how dim some management is...

I mean " anyone who has paid by cash probably wont get their money back...but we are opening in 2 days for a sale....the sell the stuff that these people have already bought"  So what do you think will happen...i reckon those customers will be very happy dont you ::)

id proably do the same as the guy who paid £1000

Having said that though you have to be a bit dim to pay that much cash...I wouldnt buy it if they wanted that much deposit

thats why i use a credit card and then pay it off at the end of the month.
