Had some good news today, i may have landed myself some parttime evening/weekend work, basically as many hours as I can cope with which will be good, i wont find out until next week but its looking promising, I am planning to try and live off of that money week to week for things like petrol, food, clothes etc and throw my wages from my main job at the debts and bills if all goes to plan. I might ask for 10 hours a week and then increase it if I can cope (i like my sleep)

This electricity challenge is obviously drumming in my brain - I had a dream about my electricity readings last night! :rotfl:

I have also decided that next months shopping is coming out of the Sainsbury's basic range completely - two reasons: 1 this means I can cut the shopping bill and 2 - i will have loads of new products to review on dooyoo - see not just a hat stand :D i will let you know how I get on

Today has been a NLD (no lunch day) I brought a tin of soup into work with me.....but not the tin opener! :rotfl:Tesco's own Tom soup if your interested!

  • Well with my on going battle not to spend money if i don't need to - especially not lining the pockets of the evil electricity fat cat bosses pockets I came across this on the Eon web page - will help me loads I to think about the cost as I go:

    1 boil of a kettle 2p
    1 use of a 4 slice toaster 1p
1 hour use of a LCD Tv 3p
1 hour use of a set top box 1p
    1 Min use of a microwave 1p
    1 hour use of a Wii 1p
    1 hour use of a laptop 1p
    1 bath 10p
    1 10 min Shower 5p
    1 hour hoovering 16p
    30mins use of a hairdryer 13p
20 mins use of straightners 2p
    1 cycle 30 deg wash 14p
    1 hour ironing 30p
1 hr energy saving lightbulb 1p
1 cooked meal in elec oven 11p
1 electric hob used to cook 10p

and it seems to work out when i look at what i use in a typical day vs my bill - will see if this helps

  • Well last night I tried to use my electricity as I wasn't monitoring it and according to the metre i spent £2.88 so if I keep up that rate my bill will be about £260 next quarter! So as of today using my newly found costs I will aim to try and use say £2.16 and see how I go
