Hi all Happy New Year

I've had quite a good day so far. I've paid a massive £1 to all my credit cards etc as told to by the nice guy at CCCS. I even went into town which is a big thing for me since upping my medication for my panic attacks had made me really nervous and I'm getting more of them at the moment. I treated myself to a cheap haircut (I've not had it cut since Feb 08) and I got a new handbag for £2 cos I had vouchers. I also treated myself to some hair dye.

On the plus side they have now decided I am actually entitled to Jobseekers :j

I had another arguement with Lloyds yesterday about my debts with them, they still request that I pay the full minimum payments I asked her how when I have no money and if they accepted shirt buttons and she hung up on me. How rude. That made me smile for the day though.

OH is treating me to bowling on the pier and a burger while we are out. Not very dfw (well it is cos hes paying) but we havn't done anything over xmas and thought we should treat ourselves. So off to count my 2ps for the machines to eat.

Keep up the good work everyone.

P.s Happy Birthday Mel. Hope you have a great day and enjoy your meal

Well I'm off the starting blocks at last!!!:j It has taken a while to get started but I knew that would be the case as I had stuff in reserve ready to start clearing some bits off. Plus I needed to wait for some statements to come in so I could see what I had cleared.
The biggest weight off my mind is clearing the GE loan which had deferred interest until March 09. It was 11,665 so a good start off my target of 35K - also they had just sent through a letter saying they had put their interest rate up!!!! Unbelievable!!
Also managed to clear another 493ish off my credit cards - will definitely be paying off at least one of those in full by end of March! and 610ish off my hideous mortgage!!!! Once the credit cards are cleared and I know what money I have left I will start making some overpayments!!
I was hoping to start some ebaying this week but may have to defer for a week as having to go away for a couple of nights for work, even though I'm on Mat Leave still!! Oh well.
So far so good with a great 12,768.90 paid out of my 35K target! Only another 22,231.10 to go:T
    MBNA [STRIKE]£2,029[/STRIKE] £1,145 Virgin [STRIKE]£8,712[/STRIKE] £7,957 Sainsbury [STRIKE]£6,870[/STRIKE] £5,575 M&S [STRIKE]£10,016[/STRIKE] £9,690 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£11,951[/STRIKE] £11,628 CTC [STRIKE]£7,629[/STRIKE] £6,789 Mortgage £[STRIKE]182,828[/STRIKE] £171,670
    LBM Dec12 excl mort 47,207/42,784 Dec13
Excl mortg and CTC 39,578/35,995 Dec13
    Incl mortg 230,035/214,454 Dec13

Guesty, I will add you now - sorry I missed you!

Right, the spreadsheet (including guesty) is uptodate with all those who have "reported in" their progress to date and I am pleased to say that the amount we have reduced our debt by so far is:

    £58,578.93

which, considering December is a difficult month, is a fantastic result!

Anyone who wants to update their totals, just let me know and I will happily amend the total!

    Well done guys :T

Wow! Proud to be part of it!

  • Right then. Deep in take of breath. Been a member for ages and I often just look at these posts to get helpful hints and tips...

Today I took my £2K savings out of the bank today and will pay off part of my debts. Total unsecured debt of about £10,600. Will use the £2k to repay a credit card that I am paying interest on...

Got 7 debts presently:eek: and really need to repay asap as I get married in September. So as it stands I will owe £8600 once I have banked the £2k and sent the money to the c/c...

So I need to be realistic as I want to achieve my goal. I want to have repaid £8600 by August. I will have to assess the debt that I will accumulate from August onwards when paying for our big day!

    Good luck everyone!
LBM was in Jan 2009. Although unsecured debt went UP to £30,954 (my wedding) but have currently got it down to £3100ish but able to pay off when I get my bonus April 2012...Mortgage £[strike]155000[/strike] £134000ish house value approx £200,000
