I know how you feel Earthstrong - I got off to a flying start this month - but have ended up with expenses related to my new mortgage - that I hadn't budgeted for - and today I discovered a blocked drain outside - that needs urgent attention - drain man on the way but to a tune of £70 per hour! I am in the wrong job!
  • Judi24- we are going to have plenty of challenges along the way, but at least we are on the right track. Once we are debt free we will be in a position to save for unexpected emergencies so don't let this set back get you too down.

    Pay off £20k by Xmas 2010 - £16,360.00
  • Hi all

I've finally caught up with the thread. Its great to see people from the last challenge and loads of new people for this challenge. I've been faffing a bit recently and this is the kick up the bum that I needed. I've already been searching round the flat for stuff to sell... I was thinking of selling my OH on ebay but I think I would have to pay someone to take him :rotfl: .... mind you I would save me a fortune in food!

I've only just sorted out my totals from the last challenge and have only just made my payments to my CC this month so far and I'm waiting for the statements to come through before I update my totals. On the plus side I have been quite organised for Xmas this year and have not put anything on my CC which is good for me as last year I was almost living off them. I think I might try and get a second job this year as I'm really determined to bash the debts down this year and my OH is supportive but not very helpful with saving money.

Everyone has been added to the challenge.

Skint-student-nurse, please can you let me know what level you are aiming for, as you didn't mention any figures in your post.

    Hi Hypno,

Can you add me please, I think I have been missed out. My aim is to get rid of 15k. Thanks!

Hi there all how are we all doing? I've not been on the boards lately as been feeling a bit below par so keeping myself to myself but just thought i'd add a wee little uppy datey.

so. this is me right now. Thanks to my blimmin car this month my debt repayments have been much lower than they otherwise could've been but am still on target for the minimum amount this month! yay!

I have paid £50 off my training debt so that can come off my total now. I have 6.16 in my debt repayment account as whenever i have an unequal balance in my account I transfer the unequal balance plus a pound to my debt repayment account. keeps things even and it's money i don't really notice. I have 3 £2 coins (yay!) £2.70 in the scratchcards a pig full of coppers that i am just about to count!! :rotfl:

what do they say about take care of the pennies :rotfl:

Right, back to book and ebay listing. got a few things here that i've no idea how much they may be worth so watch this space...
debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!

I'm struggling a bit with this at the moment, but just eading Juicy Girls post and 63p has made me feel a lot better. I've had quite a bit of expenditure this month aleady (bad planning on my part).

However, I am firm in my goal of paying £10K off by Christmas 2009.

Well done to all those who have done so well already.

  • Thanks very much Hypno, so glad to have a number, would you mind changing my total to £17,000 as that is the total of my debt (just when you are next updating). Thanks again.

  • just swapped my broadband was paying £13 a month rang up to cancel and they offered me upgraded service, free for 6 months and then £10 after so that's £13 a month towards a debt.
