Our total paid of £19k~ is 33% of our joint income. We are on good wages though so i am very grateful of that fact.
Our debt repayments come from having a lodger, being very careful with money (we have a daily cash flow statement to keep an eye on where everything is going and budget for EVERYTHING!), and the usual bingo, mystery shopping etc. Although the MS is not a great money spinner in itself, it saves us a fortune because we rarely go out unless we are doing a shop - so dinner and entertainment money saved!Paying down the mortgage:
At 1 October 2011: £226,000
Currently: £224,499
Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
Paid £1,500
Target remaining: 88.89%0 -
Our final December paymnet went out today. We didn't make the £20K as planned, but got just over 3/4 of the way! Paid off £15,931.37since 1st Jan 2009, so we are really pleased.
Signing up to next years challenge for 20K again, to start on Jan 1st as no more payments for this month.
Well done to everyone on this challenge!!

Have got a bit behind updating but have updated my signature. Think I might not quite manage the 35K by the year end as although I've got my bonus need to put some away for my solicitors fees which I'm not sure how much they will be.
Still not too far off and may get a bit closer by the end of the year yet. The really good thing is I've done a proper SOA recently and I'm now properly in the green!!!! So will be looking to clear some extra off my mortgage next year with a bit of luck as no real other debts to clear and as the boys are still young we can make do with a cheap holiday:DMBNA [STRIKE]£2,029[/STRIKE] £1,145 Virgin [STRIKE]£8,712[/STRIKE] £7,957 Sainsbury [STRIKE]£6,870[/STRIKE] £5,575 M&S [STRIKE]£10,016[/STRIKE] £9,690 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£11,951[/STRIKE] £11,628 CTC [STRIKE]£7,629[/STRIKE] £6,789 Mortgage £[STRIKE]182,828[/STRIKE] £171,670

My target was £9229.09, and I've paid off.....
£9229.09
Which reduced my credit and loan debt to zero.
I think most of you already knew this, but it brought a smile to my face just typing it out again.
I'm going to join the challenge for next year now - with my ruddy, ruddy, ruddy student loan.
I still think we're the people responsible for the reduction in personal debt that keeps being announced!
Good luck for next year....see you all there.

Well doen Batfink!
Still lots of people left to update. I wonder if it would be worth changing the title of the thread hypno to add 'post your results now' in caps, or something? Might get people's attention?0 -
good idea sarahs.........I will do so this evening.
Unfortunately, many of the people on the original list never really got involved in the challenge, and have quite probably moved away from DFW/MSE completely since declaring their good intentions. So I don't expect anywhere near the full number of declarations.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. No, I think you're right, but it might jolt some people into telling us what they have managed to do, even if it's not their full target - I don't think many of us reached our full targets, looking at the list.0
