Well done Unixgirl - that is an amazing total. And how nice it must be to be overdraft-free... I can vaguely remember those dim and distant days....0

That's great Mel. I'm very impressed at those who keep spreadsheets. For me, my MSE sig is the only way I can keep track!0

You're not alone. Every time I want to buy something, or change something I put everything into a spreadsheet to make sure I can afford it!
Another little story for you while I'm here....
My iPhone contract runs out (finally) in 3 weeks, so I wanted to see if o2 might offer me any good deals on a new one - suffice to say, they didn't - and as their customer service has been quite terrible I started looking elsewhere.
I found the phone I wanted from Orange - £149.99 for the phone, but on a 24 month contract at £40 per month!
So - off to quidco I went..... And I've got the phone for free, line rental reduced to £30 per month (same mins etc) with half of that refunded for the first 10 months *and* £40 cash back. That means I've saved £580 over buying it direct from Orange!!! It's amazing the deals you can get some times.

Well done Batfink! I may investigate this as BF's contract is up for renewal and he would love an iphone.
