Match betting... hmmm. I'd love to do it but I've read the thing twice and I still don't feel confident enough to see how it works long term. So would love to know how you get on!
I've taken it very slowly as my free cash is very limited and I started last Saturday. So far I've placed bets on 3 events (or so I thought- more on that in a bit) and upto yesterday had made a profit of £17 on bets, and £61 through cashback on sign ups, and have a £25 free bet still to claim. If I'd had more cash available I could have earned more than £17 profit on my bets - but I had to chose odds that I could afford.
I did however make one very big error - on Saturday I tried to bet on the FA cup semi final while it was playing live and bet against it being a draw at the exchange and bet that it would be a draw at the bookies (the odds were very similar), however my bet at the bookies was rejected as the odds changed while I was putting the bet on, but the bet at the exchange went through. I paniced and put a new bet through the bookies to cover it. As it happened the bet at the exchange won - great I thought and thought no more of it.
Tonight I've logged into the bookies and my account has been credited with winnings - in my panic I'd put my bet on Sunday's semi-final instead of Saturdays in error and it had won.
So more by luck than anything I've now got a MB profit of £99.98.
But I have also learnt not to put bets on in panic, I'll avoid betting while matches are on because the odds move very quickly (which caused the initial problem), and take it very slowly until my confidence grows. I have also only stuck to football at present until I find my feet.
I was very lucky this weekend with that error going in my favour on both sides, but it hasn't put me off, but it is a very steep learning curve as I've never used online betting, and normally only venture into a bookies once a year.
If anyone has any questions send me a pm and I'll try to help - but I am new and very obviously still have a huge amount to learn.

I'm back from holiday, but not yet had chance to catch up on everyone's progress......hope you are all doing ok!
I had a couple of payments go out while I was away, so have cleared another £133.66 off my capital.....making a total paid so far of £7242.63.
Now that I am back to reality, though, I will need to crank up my efforts if I am to reach my target.......thinking caps at the ready!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Just wanted to say still in challange just been busy paying off steady amounts usually just minimums but feel its under control which is something.
Going to ebay lots this week
sell some furniture in paper
do a carboot in next few week
All of which will help chip in towards debts mainly blooming bank charges.
I am determined to try and pay off as much as I can this year as got new baby on way in september trying to do that cheap.
Have removed hubby from challange as reason why is he the debts got on top of him and hes comsolidated all his credit cards/overdraft into one loan which gives him a fresh start and lower repayments than before not what I wanted him to do but as his wages been cut this year due to recession its been difficult for him to make inroads into debts and hes been so down incurring late payment and bank charges he seems more upbeat but we very cautious and I will ensure we keep to tight budget.
Im still managing to pay off stuff with just selling stuff, amazing how much junk one house can accumalate.
My first priority debts over next few months is
£350 barclays to bring account back within limit-due to charges not spending!
£500 littlewoods
£1200 barclaycard.
Feel confident can pay off all these in few months as due tax rebate and selling bike just needs mot first.
consolidated Lloyds overdraft into loan last nov and pay that off each month.
Would love to reduce barclayss od to 1000/500 but will see how it goes as got baby to pay for and want to put money aside for xmas so we not super skint like last few christmases.

Another £50 transferred into my "ditch the debt" account today.......another step closer :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I have had no internet for the last 24 days:mad: but at last it is fixed today I felt as if half my life was missing:D
So I have had no chance to update but have totalled today and I have paid a further £948.66 off my debt so have updated sig. I have also waved goodbye to my Platinum One card so all debt is now 0% or LOB and the interest is down to £30 a month instead of £840:o
It is my pay day at the end of the month (which only comes every 3 months!) so I am expecting to make big inroads then. Have to wait for it to clear as I am paid by cheque. So when I get back from Uganda on the 10th May there should be a big improvement in my signature.
