  • Just came across this thread last night - have been trying to start facing my debts this year by overpaying etc. I was soooo inspired by everyone that I then went and worked out what I'd paid off this year so far. Anyway it's £1300 and as I'm on maternity leave at the moment and money's a bit tight I was really chuffed with myself, even though I've still got about £11000 left to go. Anyway I'm back at work in 6 weeks (boo hoo!) and this means I can overpay even more. Is it too late to join up for another £5000 by Christmas or should I push the boat out and go for £10000!!!

Well done to everyone and thank you for giving me the inspiration to challenge myself!! Just off to make the kiddiwinks some lunch - before taking some photos for ebay - no time like the present - eh?

Welcome aboard Harrietbaby (Jeez, I am calling you that and I don't even know you....). Just go with what you feel is best as nobody will shout you down if you don't achieve it.

As you can see from my sig, I am well behind schedule but I have a few cunning plans up my sleeve....muahahahahahahahahaha
  • Hi everyone.

I haven't updated for a while, so I've just added up all the payments I've made to date since the start of the challenge and it comes to £4239.62. :j

I can't believe I've paid that much off - I'm so busy thinking about the pennies on a day-to-day basis, and how much I've got left to pay, I haven't really noticed how much I've actually paid.

It's nice to see a total like that, it'll be even nicer when it's all mine! Seeing how much I could be saving though is making me wonder if I'll ever be able to spend anything again.

    Well done everyone.

    Polly
  • Hiya richestorags - going to go for the big one! Waheyy!! Feeling really positive - would love to know your 'cunning plan' - very intriguing....

Well done Pollydaydream - that's phenomenal (ace word, don't you think?) - I would definitely say you've stopped faffing! It's great to see the running total and even if I don't make the £10000 I will still have achieved - that makes it a positive in my eyes.

Thing is you're still paying off not adding to so you're making a difference. A big difference.
