Cashmeregirls..the way I've done it this year is to shave as much as possible of all bills,be as frugal as possible with shopping, not buying loads of clothes or things that I don't need...survey sites for vouchers etc and paying every spare penny off the debts.
Some of the others have second jobs ebay stuff etc as well.

    Hi Hypno
After having received confirmation yesterday that I am not being made redundant:j I am now planning to go back to work in Feb from my Mat leave! I have had a look at my finances in detail and have made provisions already to pay off nearly 24K by March 09 so my target of 25K is looking a bit pathetic and not very challenging - can you please up it to 35K? Aim high as they say!!:D Thanks

Can I join in please Hypno - I think I have around 14k of CC and OD debt - would like to aim for 20k as this would cover all of this and go a long way towards paying off my car early. Just going to check exact figures and sort out my signature.
  • Hello, i joined a while ago but only just really started looking. Please can i aim for 10k?

Thanks, cannot see it happening but even if i pay off some its a bonus hey!
  • Thanks for adding me to the list. I cant wait to get started

Ditto Miz! all mine come out today too. would be nice to get off to a nice healthy flying start!

    BUT...

People this challenge is GOING to be hard. There are no two ways about it. starting off on a negative foot will only make you believe that you can't achieve what you are setting out to do. With the support here from the old timers, (hypno I mean DFW old timers not old as in really old! ;) )the numerous ideas that will come up here and partaking fully in the challenge your TARGETS ARE ACHEIVABLE!! :D:D:D so c'mon!!!! positivity abounds!!! we can and WILL do this!!!

    Lots of love

Amen pania! it is amazing what can be achieved with the help of people on these boards.

And with that positivity in mind I am going to start today. It is the same money I would have on Monday but psychologically it helps to make the first payment as soon as the money hits the account. And from today means that I have almost exactly 13 months to Xmas 2009 which is my DFD target. My snowball tells me that can be done - I need to earn an extra £400 a month or so as well as sticking to budget. Not easy but definitely possible.

Hope that's ok with everyone! (money won't actually hit the credit card till Monday anyway!) :o:cool:
