Its just started to sleet here in Brighton so I thought I'd better go to Tesco cos I wont go tomorrow if the weather is to be believed.
The shelves were stripped bare ! Huge queues at the checkouts, it was like xmas eve ! by the time I got back to the car there was a blanket of snow everywhere. Glad I got my panic buy in early, it's going to be mayhem here tomorrow but I will be lovely and warm with my sausage sandwiches with reggae reggae sauce.

    Miss Beatrice, the church organist,
was in her eighties and had never been married.
She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all.
One afternoon the pastor came to call on her
and she showed him into her quaint sitting room.
She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea...
As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young
minister noticed a cut glass bowl sitting on top of it.
The bowl was filled with water,
and in the water floated, of all things, a condom.
    When she returned
    with tea and scones,
    they began to chat.
The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl
of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better
of him and he could no longer resist.
'Miss Beatrice", he said, pointing to the bowl
"I wonder if you would tell me about this?"
"Oh, yes," she replied, "Isn't it wonderful?
I was walking through the park a few months ago
and I found this little package on the ground..
    The directions said
to place it on the organ, keep it wet and
that it would prevent the spread of disease..
Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter."

What a nightmare morning. So cold last night all my car doors locks had frozen and I was unable to unlock a door. Managed to get the boot open and climb thru, still couldn't unlock the car from the inside so started the engine and climbed out to clear the windows.
Once I had scraped the ice off I went back to the boot to climb back in and..... it was locked, all my keys are inside, my phone my wallet.
Fortunately my elderly neighbour I care for was up so I borrowed his phone and called my Dad who laughed and told be to join the AA.
Managed to get a locksmith out to break into my house where I have a spare key for the car. £85 and 2 hours later I managed to drive off (in a very warm car).
On another downer I believe I have some serious health issues starting......
  • Hi Jim

Sorry to hear about your car/snow/keys grief. Luckily my OH's mispent youth means we were able to get into our car when I locked the keys in. Sorry to hear you have concerns about your health too. Hope they're unfounded.

That sounds like a terrible morning Jim. Hope things get much better. If you have concerns about your health, make sure you go and see a doctor.
Enough finger wagging now. Have a peaceful evening.

    Hi Jim,

It's always nice when you ring a relly for help and they just laugh. I remember losing an favorite earring down the sink. I rang my ex boyfriend to ask him where I could get a replacement from and how much it would cost. He laughed a lot and then said 'Do you want to include the airfare to London?'

    We took the sink apart!

    Hope you're okay Jim.

The last thing you need is mistakes like that costing you money. Hopefully that's the bad part of the year over with.

I know someone like that. He spent Christmas and New Year 'inside', though.
