Hello Cranky, I wanted to let you now that I will spend the day thinking of you, I have no words of wisdom to offer but I understand.
The next time I post a joke (most are too rude to do so) I will dedicate it to you because if anyone deserves a smile than you are front of my queue.
Please feel free to drop by any time and tell us all (80,000 and counting ) about your day. Jim x.0 -

Hi Jim.Payplan are brilliant.I have been in your situation & worse for about 18 months.Things came to a head & I contacted them to arrange a DMP.I would say get Payplan to sort out a DMP for you as soon as possible. All the dreadful letters & phonecalls have stopped, believe me you don't want to get to that situation. Also,my biggest mistake was not to call mt creditors at the earliest opportunity...had I done this I would have saved myself much stress !!
Jim,just make the phone calls, face it head on.You said you are up to date with your mortgage..that is excellent....don't worry about repossesion.Call Payplan today.
Best of luck !!0 -

Graham White solicitors have just called regarding my Nationwide debt of £965. They have offered a settlement figure of £436. I explained that I have £30 and he said he can accept that for a monthly payment, I said, no, I HAVE Just £30.
I then asked him if he thought that this was a good use of his companies resources to be calling people who they know are in financial difficulty on a payment plan of £7 per month 4 days before Christmas to see if they have a spare £436 lying about the place.
I was really looking forward to his answer but guess what- he hung up ! It must be my attitude but I really wanted a drawn out conversation to the merits of his call.
First Direct have written to tell me to get stuffed over my claim for bank charges, I did get over £100 back earlier on in the summer though.0 -
Jim,
You're getting very deep and meaningful and reflective recently.
Perhaps you're due a change of an era coming up. Energy follows thought and all that ..
I'm sure I'm not alone in that when I'm driving the highways and byways for work every day, often I think of those I read about on here and although each are anonymous I often wonder how you and 'Broke in wales' amongst others are at that time and wish you well.
I think the stick the job was for the best under the circumstances although I guess you need to find a new source of biofuel when its springtime.
Very pleased to hear of the new tenant - Hope it works out well.0 -
So glad you are still posting Jim!
You were right, the hassling phonecalls are getting less and less, and also I have been invited to a beautiful woman's for xmas day!:D0 -
Sorry you're having a hard time Jim. Probably a good idea to chuck the job in if they don't seem to care how unsafe it is. I don't wish to be irritating but I hope you aren't feeling too bad about it today because you have come a VERY long way and the money from the new lodger will help.
Take care Jim and very best wishes to cranky.0 -
Cranky if you are put there come back and let us know how you are. I am drinking port at the moment and like others reflecting on the year.
I have an amazing tale to tell you all tomorrow but right now I have to devote myself to a bottle of the finest.
