My kettle is on for about 3 hours a day then given the amount of tea I drink lol.
Other than that we don't actually do too bad. The turning off of the alarm clock is more of a reminder to myself to be aware of what I'm doing and not to forget the bigger stuff.
As for the oven, well my wife is not English and isn't into the traditional roast, so most of our cooking is done on the hob rather than inside and doesn't take long. Unfortunately, being from warmer climes, this is offset by the amount of time we have the heating turned on
Thanks for the idea of Maplins etc, I'll see where we are after Christmas and might buy myself a new toy.แล้วไงต่อ0 -
Brilliant thread.
Worried Jim, if you're still worrying about your weight, may I suggest a visit to your GP to ask him if he can give you vouchers for Slimming World.
Slimming World on Referral schemes are being set up with Slimming World by Primary Care Trusts, sometimes by the larger Strategic Health Authorities and occasionally by surgeries who manage their own budget.
There are around 60 such schemes up and down the country and if you're lucky enough to have one locally it will give you at least 12 weeks of attending a group, completely free (a saving of around £65).
You seem to be getting a handle on your other problems, so help with losing weight would be greatI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Where do I get one of the free energy monitors from? I know the obivous answer is go and look on the BG website and I'll do that next  but also wanted to post on your thread again.
I've recently become addicted to switching off plugs all round the house. I even turn off the alarm clock, but it is a pain re-setting it every night, don't know what was wrong with the old fashioned ones with a key in the back!!

Have just returned from seeing Lily Allen at the Brighton centre. Some observations-
Brighton centre, charging £3.70 for a small bottle of beer which can be had for 50p in a supermarket multi buy deal borders on the rip off. Taking a bottle of squash off my pregnant friend at the door is petty. Lying to her that there is free water available inside is not on. Having the upstairs bar only serve beer and making my pregnant friend spend all night climbing stairs to get a soft drink is p1ss poor. Can you imagine a venue in the U.S. doing this. Poor, poor service. And a rip off.
Well done Lily, you were clearly not well yet you gave 100% and free pints of Guinness from the stage- nice touch. To the massive salad dodger sat in front of me, did you really need to bring a kebab? Did you really need to spend all night farting and texting your moron mates on the other side of the venue. Future tip mate, when Lily is singing "not fair" sit down rather than jump around like a gorilla, its a song about men being !!!!!! in bed and not been able to give a lady the big O she is longing for, otherwise known as an "I will survive" moment, time for men to clear the dance floor you big fat p1key.
Other observations.- Parents if you choose to drag your teenage children to see Lily Allen cos you think that you are a "cool" parent do not get up and dance in front of them- your children are dying of embarrassment and some of their friends may be there and they will get bullied and in all likelihood stabbed the next day at school. You stopped being cool the very moment they popped out of you and you bought a Renault scenic. Stay at home and watch boring Joe win the X factor.
Yes I am moody !!!!!!.0 -

CanI join in with the moaning?I went to see Depeche Mode at Birmingham NEC last night and had an annoying person in front of me. There was a woman doing a 'Skippy the bush kangaroo' and jumping up and down to every song - since when do you pogo about to DM? The drinks weren't too badly priced, although we only had soft drinks, but the car parking was an outrageous £8!
Great thread Jim, keep it up. :T0 -
I love DM. Never let me down is the greatest. When I go to the NEC I always park at the Ramada Hotel. Go in for drink, then walk across to the arena and back for a drink at the end.
The fat guy was quite entertaining, I just didn't expect to see Mr and Mrs sportswear 2009 in front of me throwing beer everywhere. I t looks like I may have found a lodger for my spare room after 4 weeks of advertising and over £90 spent. Fingers crossed cos I am so broke I may not be able to attend the office party on Friday as I have now lost £800 over the past two months and you all know that I can't afford that.0 -

Went to a Kings of Leon concert in the US earlier this year. We were frisked (yes really) going in and all liquids including water was thrown away. They did have water fountains but they tasted disgusting and bottled water was $5 a go. Beer was $9 (yes $9) a small bottle and I'd forgotten my ID, so couldn't buy alcohol anyway (I'm nearly 50 but no common sense allowed over there). A rather nasty security stood over my husband while he bought himself a beer just in case he handed it over to me. Actually followed us back to our seats!!! Really not a pleasant experience at all and the acoustics were terrible!0 -
big venues, big prices, crap experience. Anyone surprised?
support your local scummy pub rock scene! At least if the music's rubbish you won't have been fleeced for a ticket, and you might even be able to walk home.0 -
Well I feel a little better that it's not just me getting fleeced @ the Brighton centre. I just cant understand the mentality of these places. If the bar upstairs had more variety they would sell more product and make more money, who are these numpties that run these places?0
