Thanks for everyones support. I am sh1tting myself with worry. Have just spoken to a coleague who has had diabetes for 15 years and he listed the symptoms and I agreed that I had them, although he did say it could just be a nasty virus. I will go to the Dr's (at some point....)

Jim - please go to the doctor ASAP. Do not put it off. Please keep us posted. Even though I don't post on your diary very often I always read it.

Take care - you must look after yourself.

Yes better to go earlier. Sometimes you can treat diabetes with diet and exercise but you can get nasty stuff going wrong with your eyes and organs if left untreated.

Bit like debts, always worse if left and not tackled head on.

    Excellent advice Jim.
Please take the prods in the spirit they are intended and go see the doc. Otherwise the forum will get messy as we will all have to change our usernames worriedk2tog, worriedverbatim, worriedhamsterpoo etc etc actually the last one sounds like the RSPCA should be called :rotfl:
Hi Hamster :D haven't "seen" you for a while.

Jim get to the doctors asap!! If you call into your local health centre a nurse could do a random blood glucose for you, it is only a small finger pr!ck, (will not let me type the word properly hence the !) if you cannot get an appointment with your doctor quickly. My Dad was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at 60 years of age and he can manage it so if it is diabetes you will be fine.

Get yourself checked out in the morning!

    Hi Jim

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling too well. Have you been to the doc's? Please let us know you're ok.

I am feeling strangely fine. I even had a full nights sleep last night with out waking for the toilet or a drink. Being a man of a certain age (or having the prostate of a 50 year old according to my Dr, and you don't want to know how he found that out) I usually wake at least twice a night for the toilet so a full nights sleep happens once a month.
Uming and ahhing about the Dr, may go on Wednesday as I am free.
New tennant moved in today- am really pleased and he seems spot on so I have a little money now so I splashed out on some new bed linen as after 5 years my favourite set had become threadbare, thankfully I have a Dunelm Mill round the corner (my mother raves about them) so it was cheap but by God aren't the staff miserable on a Saturday morning and why do the blue rinse set have to take everything back for a refunds at 9.10am when I am trying to buy one fitted valance ?
Have a complete day off tomorrow so will pay a visit to the racist pensioner next door to see if he is okay and to listen why Britain is going down the drain because of no national service and the damned Labour government letting in to many darkies. Old people- bless.
