I walked out of Practical magic and got a refund as I complained that they were selling it as entertainment under the sale of goods act.
    :rotfl:

:rotfl:i just laughed out loud on my own at that!

reminds me when me and OH went to see prince valiant years ago (OH is/was a big king arthur fan) - it was pants, more funny than anything, but we stayed as it was in the west-end so it had cost us almost a tenner each:eek: (pre-MSE days)

Have been watching Jamie Olivers Food Revolution- it is brilliant, even better than Jamie's school dinners. Every episode tugs at your heart, I don't know when or if it will be shown in the UK but look out for it, also have a look on youtube for the oprah winfrey show where he cooks chicken nuggets and mash - it looks gorgeous.

Fed up of taking tablets, they make me feel really sick and give me a huge appetite which comes from nowhere only 2-3 hours after eating. So i've stopped taking them and just take the pills for my liver as they have no side effect.
As a cosequence of these horrible tablets all the weight that I have lost I have put back on and more and this has to stop as I feel even worse. Tuesday night was the last time I had a "nasty" tablet and I had to go to bed early as I felt awful and at about 2am I was seriously considering getting up and going to Tesco ang buying some bran flakes and semi skimmed cos I was dreaming about them and woke up starving. As of Wednesday I have altered my diet to try and fnally shift some of this bulk and to stop feeling so lousy. Could murder a bar of dairy milk.

Thanks for the film reviews - kept thinking I should go and see Alice but just haven't been able to summon up enough enthusiam for it, and having seen a few clips thought it looked a bit dark and strange - you have jsut helped me make up my mind not to bother with it so thank you for saving me some money!

As for The Lovely Bones - I read the book a few years ago when everyone was raving about it, and I never really got what was so amazing about it but as I seemed to be the only person who didn't think it was the most fabulous thing ever written I kept quiet about what I thought of it, and was planning to see the film to see if I was in the wrong, but from everything I have read about it, I think I had the right opinion in the first place! So again, thank you for saving me money!

Talking about foreign language films - I watched La Vie En Rose the other night - great film! Didn't know much about Edith Piaf before I saw it but I thought it was a great film, would definitely recommend it!

Really sorry - just realised my last post might come across as a bit insensitive - wrote it straight after reading your film reviews and before reading the later posts, so hadn't read your last one - I don't know anything about diabetes so can't comment really, but surely it must be worth going back to your doctor and talking to him/her about the tablets and how they are making you feel. Maybe there are other tablets you can try, or different doses - it can't be good to just stop taking them - please talk to your doctor about alternatives...

Saw the reader yesterday, it starts a bit slow and its hard to warm to the characters, but my what a film once it gets going, had me in tears by the end-thoroughly recommend it.
Also The Taking of Pelham 123 is very good.I saw the original years ago and I thought this would be a straight remake but its not, I don't think Denzel Washington has ever made a bad film. A good Saturday night action flick.
Thanks for the tip about La Vie En Rose, its now on order.
I have Four Christmases to see tonight- I don't know what I was thinking when I put this on the list !

    Hello Jim.

I hope you are feeling better. I didn't realise you had diabetes. I do too but am insulin dependent. If you feel poop go to see dr urgently. Hypos etc can really mess up your moods and they might want to try new tablets or something.

Enjoy the films. I cannot afford to go to cinema so well done!!!

    big hugs,

I also saw 17 again, reasonably ok but I have some issues. In the middle of the film the character palyed by Zac Efron is in class talking about the virtues of virginity, now if I was transported back to school at 17 you would need to strap a plank across my backside to stop me falling in. This is obviously some Disney execs idea of being the best looking 17yr old in high school. To work at Disney you must be really square ! Rant over.

Wow, Chloe O'brien is now the head of CTU ! I don't know what I will do with myself when 24 finishes in a few weeks, except start from day 1 all over again. I hope it's a wet summer cos I've got 192 episodes to watch.
