Right experiment 1 is on its second prove in the tin,the mixture 'just' covers the bottom of the tin but seeing as one set of instructions I found said don't fill the tin more than 40% it might just be enough..
Experiment 2 is in the pannyI've got a double batch of the enriched dough recipe in there so hopefully by the time 1 is baked,2 should be ready to go...
I'll see how these 2 do then might triple the recipe next time if needed, this is going to be a huuuuge loaf :rotfl:0 -
THe bakers opposite my m-i-l sells bread baked in lidded tins; it has a soft crust and is well risen but with a dense texture which makes it perfect for sandwiches when fresh (hence "sandwich loaf") and for toast or fried bread when a day or two old - in fact the best fried bread that I have ever had!
I found this recipe online:
http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-bin/recipe.cgi?r=205357
by googling sandwich pullman loaf recipe.0 -
First loaf is out and smells gorgeous :j Not enough dough though so will try tomorrow with a triple batch.
Second lot is in the tin now and proving..think this will be the same not enough dough  but need to taste test the two anyway to see which is better.
It looks lovely though...:D
I've been taking pics so will add them on later.0 -
Second lot has come out perfect :j :j Got some pics but lost the camera lead  hopefully DS1 knows where one is so I can upload them
Can't believe I'm so excited over a loaf of bread...:rotfl:0 -
One end *look at those corners* :rotfl:
Side view..enough to keep us going for a day or two
So in the end double the enriched dough recipe in the Panasonic book was perfect.
I'll cost it later to see how much we'll be saving on 'sliced' bread now :j0 -
Wow that is so impressive!!!!! Well done
Shame we don't eat much bread so its hardly worth it for us

Wow! Well done you! And once again I have bakeware envy
Why do you do this to me Dee? Snowman tins were bad enough
Seriously though, does the lid have any bearing on the loaf's texture?0 -
