I know, I feel like the prodigal son but this has been on my heart for weeks now and I'm going to post it anyway.

I don't remember when I wrote my first flylady post, but I do remember that I was a heavy smoker and spent all my time indoors in my pj's. My two year old son was entertained by the most meager tasks I could muster from my tired imagination. My fiance would work all day then come home, do last nights dishes cook the supper and get the washing organised.
I had all the time in the world to sit and surf the net because I couldnt see myself been good for much else.

Now my house can't get any better than it is without us moving into a new one, I haven't had a cigarette in whats it been? Six weeks? I stopped keeping tabs when I stopped craving:) My christmas shopping is almost done and Im hosting a party on Friday:D A cookie swap party, it is in my home that a number of people will gather to welcome the festive season...This time last year I didn't know even a few people to have by for coffee (if I could hide my shame long enough to invite them in). In the last few weeks I've found I've not had much to do inside my home and so I joined the NCT. I have had my little boy at playgroups galore, I have taken him swimming-and he runs around the house pretending to be the bus driver.

I am living a life now, so much so that I find I have very little time to keep up with the very people who taught me how to do that. If someone had told me a year ago that it would be through the internet that this would happen I would have cried liar. All of you have given something to my life, and I feel like I owe you something more-even just more of my time. So to all of you who have contributed to who I am today, I thank you. Please forgive me for not being here everyday-or even every week. And I know that you will always be welcoming when I look in on you when I can:A , but I really want to find myself a new challenge to master, but please dont forget to PM when the flylady meet happens in London-because you know that will happen long before any wedding invitations arrive at your doorsteps;)

WOW Polkadot, what a fabulous post. It is fantastic to hear that someone has really turned a corner and it has certainly given me a kick up the rear end to be more positive about my achievements.

    Thank you

    Evening all,

I have managed to make a start on my list since getting in from work, and made a store cupboard tea which means its 3 no spend days in a row unfortunately I need milk tomorrow but not much else so should be a cheap week.

Will add to my list tomorrow as heading to bed now, have been tired all day and now have a headache so going to take advantage of there being nothing to watch on telly.

night night see you in the morning.

polka how lovely to hear from you and such an inspiring post, well done and I hope it continues for a very long time!

jjef snap mine was 3 nsd's, however I get milk delivered (have paid for next 2 weeks aswell as I am always out on Wednesdays at the mo)

:rotfl: Michelle, it was really cold in here, the heating had only just come on after being off all day, my boys don't feel cold or heat too well, well they do they just do nothing about it unless told. DSs will sit in a red hot car cooking himself with a vest, tshirt, jumper and coat on, plus gloves and hat if not told to take them off they won't usually do it. If the taxi driver doesn't tell him not to take stuff off, which I have now got into them after DS1 kept getting home 'feeling ill'. He's either all or nothing. They hate clothes, mainly due to sensory issues and would probably rather be cold than put up with clothes, but outside DS1 uses his clothes to hide in basically. Ds2 however always has socks on, he hates not having socks on but they have to be soft socks and seamless/virtually seamless. He's ran out of the house starkers on many occasions including in the snow but does tend to have his socks on.

Right, just the ledges left to do and that's it, once they are cleared it's all boxed. Don't get me wrong some of this usually lives in here it's just I want it out for xmas. I might do a list of what should be in here so everyone knows what needs to be in here. Spikered myself on a sewing needle I left on the window sill, ooooowwwww lesson learned. I just thought of something, I've had no food today......DPs gone to work with sandwiches and DSs had what was planned, forgot about me again :o think I got a vege bake out of the freezer last night for me, I should go have a look as I am feeling wooosie and it's either tired or nothing to eat.

    I couldn't resist some flylady advice http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1315663

    Back again

Havent done much apart from catch up with a few posts for a change.

toochoosey - My DD aged 9 is always coming up with excuses as soon as I say bedtime, I'm hungry, I need a drink, I dont like the dark, I need to give dad a kiss, I need to ring dad (if he's at work), I need to do my homework, my tummy hurts, my mouth is sore, I feel sad ................... I could go on but each one is met with "tough! its bedtime" which is usually met with a certain amount of shouting screaming and crying :rotfl:

welcome mags50 - hope you stay around and enjoy the thread

Well lunches are done for tomorrow, tea's all munched and cleared away. I even emptied the DW myself and put it away instead of making the kids do it.

I think I'll now head off up to the bedroom for some fun and games there, oo er ....... not, its a pigsty and I'm going to work from the list, thats after I've had a rummage in the attic to try and find the bag of Chrissy cards.

Wont report back til tomorrow evening as if I go up now then I can just fall into bed when I'm ready

    See you then

Polka what a great post, I am so pleased for you and thanks for sharing with us all.

Well we did get to handbell practise and the 'I want to be the centre of attention' girl was their again and again trying to draw attention to herself  and of course she and her mum were late, very late. After that I took W swimming, he was reasonably cooperative and did some of the things he was asked! New set of lessons hence new kids, a total of 10 in the pool tonight so I think he did very well all things considered.

Then went to the Morrisons suggested by valli, ta duck ;) (as they say in these ere parts) did the £40 spend and got 5p/litre petrol coupon. If I thought I could stand the crush at the weekend I might well have waited as I still did and do feel a bit light headed. Trying to keep a running total was challenging today :rotfl: But it's done and both kids are now in bed. W has decided to kip with me so figured it was easier to put him straight in our bed as he is less inclined to do his helicopter act then. lol

Hope everyone else is ok, my saucepan is overflowing more than usual. I have read the thread but can't for the life of me remember what to say or to whom.

I should be at work tomorrow, Miss A is on a trip to Sheffield United tomorrow and is very exctied. If I feel c**p at work I shall leave early so there :p
