OJK I bought my friend a fridge magnet with that on :D or something VERY similar! It's so true.
vivw hope you're feeling better soon, sounds yukky
Mudbath puppies are like children, be careful what you give fuss because of. I remember catching Holly's paw with the door, she cried for ages, she got loads of cuddles, then when I left the room I could hear her playing with Luke, when I came back in she laid on the sofa paw out crying? Then I let her in the garden, she chased a cat when she thought I wasn't looking then when I shouted her to come in started hobbling again, they are not daft!
Mags grrrr I want to be able to make perfect muffins like that!
boddy thanks for the stamps info, if I am near one anyway I will get some (parking is £1.80 at the nearest one so not worth it just for stamps)
poohbear, oh heck, were the supplements prescribed?
nicki it's amazing how many places country wide use that site! It is brilliant.
kazw did you manage to get the hearing aid sorted?
Craftyscholar, I have places I can leave things, the garage is a workroom of DPs stuff but I can easily hijack bench space if needed. The science course is 60 and the assignments are monthly, well 2 a month, which I think suits me better. Assignments for the other course are 1 bimonthly. I think you're right it's a lot of work and my personal interest in the Inclusive Ed one would be what would make it easier to do 2 at once. Still deciding.
Zoey fingers crossed your beds sorted!
kazmeister here don't moan if she actually gets results :rotfl:
pigpen ((hugs)) sounds like a testing time for you and yours x
I'm 5ft 2 and refuse to have a chest freezer unless I have to after spending too much time falling in them. Summermoon you are the same height as my Mum :D They thought it was funny to lock the one at work I fell in :( meanies, I hate small spaces.

DP still can't believe I went into Sainsburys and ONLY bought the jar of jam I needed, nothing else! So that was my only spending/buying today. I needed it because I have ran out.

Had a little extra fella earlier, kid who goes to DS2s school locked out. He actually said 'I've not brought my bag with the key in to school' after he'd called his Mam to say where he was, am I the only one who wouldn't dream of giving a just turned 10 year old a key? leaving him alone for at least an hour? Sorry maybe just me.

Got a meeting tomorrow 1pm ish I will have to leave but before then will be flying. I'm going to 'encourage' my children to clear under the sofas, make it into a game, somehow, it's their junk and DPs and my back hurts too much to do it. Chat with a social worker friend of mine earlier, she was laughing as I was explaining what my sons were doing, bouncing around the room starkers eating ice lollies :rotfl: they don't like clothes and they like lollies.

I haven't missed your post before you think I have, there is things you can do to help her with organising herself, strategies to put in place etc. Serena has made some great suggestions already! I would start with a wipe clean white board so she can make notes of things she needs to remember, where she has put things etc think of it as her brain is a car park and when it's full the whiteboard is the overflow. A diary can be good, if she will always keep it in one place and not loose it, if she always remembers her bag for example it can go in there. Discourage her from taking homework in earlier than it's due unless she will be handing it in will save getting lost in school. Scan or photocopy what she does, so you always have back up, scannings easier/cheaper/better for the enviroment, she can always email/print it to prove she's done it.

One bit that stood out a lot was 'But if I say, "Take your clothes upstairs, bring your cup down, put it in the dishwasher, then turn the telly on." ' Sorry I think 99% of people would be the same, one or at the most 2, instructions, or write them down. By the time they have got upstairs they will have forgotten the rest, possibly half way through putting her clothes away. Of course you can imagine the anxiety that builds up if you can't remember what you needed to do, not a nice feeling at all. Maybe build up to 4 slowly, but I wouldn't expect miracles if she struggles with memory.

Jack and the Disorganised Dragon by Sharon Drew is a great book for kids with organisation issues, to help them understand, a good one for peers to read IMO aswell.

To type every idea I can think of would be silly, however these links might help a bit, some are a bit american but same sort of ideas,

Oh I forgot the most important thing when getting someone to do something, motivation, no matter what systems you put in place if a child doesn't want to do it or doesn't have anything to motivate them to do it, you're wasting your time. This is true when it comes to phsycial things like reading, writing etc and organising themselves. Children do things because they are motivated to, some do it because of social motivation (because peers are, teachers approve, it's what is expected of them etc), for some they don't give a floof what others think or that it pleases the teacher to remember their homework so other motivators are necessary to get them to do these things more independantly.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Evening all

Gryf - hugs - have you thought of wearing thick gloves for a week or two to protect your hands?
Kaz - glad you got a sensible person on the phone at last about your hearing aid
Zoey - hugs - hope you feel better soon

There seems to be quite a few vertically challenged people here. I'm 5' 6" - anyone else (apart from Gryf who tops me by 2") got their head in the clouds?

I am still on the mend this evening but more in the office are falling down with it. The guy I caught it from is a couple of days ahead of me and is still coughing. We had a quick meeting this afternoon and were coughing almost in unison - it was quite hilarious!

DD sent me a text this pm which had me creased up - wanting to know how I am, she started off "Mother, I sneezed and thought of you ...."

I'm being careful not to do to much flying though - don't want to hinder my recovery. But, I have spent the last hour since getting in catching up on paperwork - organising PAYE payments to the tax man etc. But at least it's done - and the money was in the current account so didn't need to be drawn off reserves which is nice.

Off now to do a stew for dinner.

    Level Two
Put all the disc in their boxes and the books on the shelves and the toys in the chests
Sort through a chestof drawers/wardrobe and fling anything that no longer fits <--in process of swapping 3-6 month clothes for 6-9 month clothes she's growing too fast!
    Binbag dance
    Level Three

Dust and [STRIKE]vacuum[/STRIKE] and wipe of sticky grotty bits <--not managed to dust but have wiped one bedroom

Wednesday - Master bedroom & landing

    Level Two

    floordrobe clearance in the bedroom
    Level Three

[STRIKE]Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing[/STRIKE] No landing so did hall!
    Dust and [STRIKE]wipe any paintwork[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]in one bedroom[/STRIKE]
    Extras
    1. Write those christmas cards and sort stamps for those to be posted <--i dont know why I put this down - my Xmas cards haven't arrived yet! Doh!!
Looking at it, it seems a lot more. Have also made a casserole and wiped countless bottoms! Now I'm going to S&S the kitchen and put the purees I froze last night in freezer bags. Then i'm going to bed I think, Ffion woke at 1.30 last night and then woke up singing at 5.30am - I feel really uurrgghhh now - have got a huge chocolate craving but must resist going to the shop!!

Justamum - I should leave pink ted at home, I've just been going for the easy option as the baby is usually screaming as we're on our way out the door.

    See you tomorrow!!

Hi guys, well I am still on strike lol and I am loving it so far. On the subject of height I am 5ft 7ish I knw I tower above many of my friends lol.

I have got off my butt to make some grub and this is what I came up with. I lightly oiled a pan with olive oil. Then I fried some oinion and peas with seasoning. I added to this some rice and fried in with the other bits, then added some sliced sandwhich chicken and some tomatoes. It was very lovely to say I just chucked things in and I have to say I ate the lot and nearly licked the plate lol.

Defo looks like I will be in hospital on the 3rd dec only problem is I now have a sore throat lol. Looks like I might be back at the docs 2moz as the one today was a bag of poop.
 Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.

soappie - that sounds like a plan! My nails are also flaking so I think I need to get some washing up gloves anyway.

toochoosey - I have at least one of those! He couldn't go to bed 10 minutes ago as he was still hungry, so he has cucumber now. A few minutes and he'll be sent upstairs or frogmarched!

Back a bit sore today, have to remember to do those exercises I was given!
