Gryfon I really understand your problems getting things done with a toddler around. My DD is 20 months and fairly easy going (unlike her 5 yr old brother!) but it's still hard because I feel like I can never complete anything.
I've only been trying this thread for a couple of weeks but I've found the 30min idea helpful. It makes me at least start something and I do feel better and a bit less stressed 30mins later. Sometimes I even go back and get the job finished! (I did say sometimes....)

Sorry net playing up but I am plodding on, ottoman emptied so going to dash about putting stuff in it to hide :D Weathers took a right turn, gone from being blinded by sunshine to loads of heavy rain. Had an email from the estate agents to say bungalow might allow pets and they will get back to me so that's my current possible safety net, debating going to have a look at it.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200

angelnikki can you ask on your local freecycle group if any one has a spare one? or is there a computer shop locally to you, they might have one.

Its been working on and off. This morning X went round all the computer shops for me looking for one and the ones he found were £50. So as mine was still workingish <or so I thought> I said just order it online instead cos we had found one that was less than £20. But when I just tried to use my laptop it stopped working again. I might send him back to get the one he found if his PC annoys me too much. lol

    ((Hugs Johanne))

thats good news if they do lil_me. I'd go have a look ;) [strike]but then I'm nosy[/strike] lol

Well you can get magnetic door openers! Although unfortunately the door doesn't open automatically.

Well by the time I have eventually qualified as something which would make me eligible for such a magic card they WILL open automatically.. or I could just join the stargate project.. I guess

johanne...doesn't he get sick pay? What a bummer :(

Not for first 3 days and he was off nearly the full 3 with that awful vomitting bug.

Its cos he does such long shifts (12 hours) that makes its a major chunk of money to lose - about £87 a day!

    AnW - hugs

Has anyone's Mirror Lego arrived yet?

Thanks for the hug :) And no our Mirror Lego has not arrived yet, have checked online banking and the cheque has not been cashed either.

    *RANT ALERT*

Our window cleaner is supposed to clean our windows every month (I pushed it back from every fortnight 3 yrs ago) They post a little card through when they are done (as if you wouldn't be able to tell!) Sometimes it's a week/fortnight before they collect the money. Anyway they have been today and I am fairly certain that it was only 2 weeks since they last came but can't remember exact date. I shall be keeping a note of the date but will challenge when the round owner calls to collect today's money. What is really p*ssing me off is that I know for a fact that they have not done the window in the pc room  they would have to climb on the pitch of the garage roof to get to it and there was no scrabbling plus the window is bone dry. To add insult to injury they knew I was in and still did not do it  I know they don't do the bathroom window as it is on the opposide side of the house and to gt to it they would have to go on my neighbours property. SO they are DOUBLY taking the p*ss, in fact come to think of it I bet they don't do the landing window either (semi opaque glazing like the bathroom). I watched them do a couple of neighbours houses and they missed bedroom windows over the conservatorys on those.   going to check all the windows now.......... trying to change the how often they clean them to get more money (all of £3.50 but it's the principal) is one thing but missing the more difficult ones..... grrrrrrrrr

Back from town and have finally made an appointment to go switch my ISA tomorrow.

Gryfon - I put a dry hand towel in with damp towels as it reduces the time by absorbing some of the water. Think I'll use my plug thing to see how much mine uses.

AnW'sMum - my window cleaners are getting worse - I know they didn't do a couple of windows last time - cause I was in - I told them but they said they had - I know different. Mine is really expensive but we do have a 4 bed detached house with original georgian windows so it is quite a lot of work. Had a go last month as they left their ladder on the verge outside my house all afternoon unattended as somebody went home ill - I told them it was a security risk and not to do it again.

Avonlea...I do sometimes feel I'm shutting the door after the horse is bolted as it were! It's a never ending chore tidying up after them!

Dustykitten...shall try that next time thanks :)

Um I have child who is now watching Power Rangers. Think I might try cooking one of those Weeabix cake things suggested on this forum somewhere, unless someone tells me that they taste horrible so don't do it!

The more regular cleaning coupled with missing windows could back fire on them as they might be getting sacked! It's just so frustrating as they know that it is just us three now and I can't help thinking they are using that to their advantage in so much as 'she won't want any hassle so we will try it on' kind of thing. Well they picked the wrong person!
