hubby and i have been doing some major decluttering, and found between us and 2 kids loads of pairs of jeans and couple of denim skirts to chuck out. some are very worn out, others ok just dont fit , or completely out of fashion. could give some to charity shop, but was trying to think how i could reuse them.

i've got a sewing machine which i'm ok on.

maybe some sort of patchwork thing?????

its such a waste to just through them i'd like to find an interesting/ creative use for them

    any ideas please!:D

I've seen some really funky shoulder bags made from the 'tops' of old jeans - I think that the strap is made from part of the legs. They'd make great gifts for young girls, if you jazz them up with some patches, beads, embroidery etc.

They would make a really funky bedspread for one of the children. I would use an old flat sheet for the backing. Open up the jeans so they are flat. Cut up into random pieces then stitch to the backing sheet overlapping where necessary. Trim outside edges, turn in and sew.

    Hi

I have 2 pairs of jeans that have recently become split across the backside part.:o

It seems a shame to throw them out when they are good in every other way.

Does any one have any ideas on what i can do with them?

Bearing in mind i'm creatively challenged.

Can you make a shopping bag with them? That would be very "Green".

My Nanna used to make peg bags and 'dapper bags' think this is a regional name, its basically a drawstring bag to put your kids gym kit in for school. I still have one that my Nanna made 20+ years ago, I keep my spuds in it under the stairs!
