Stay at home. Saves argument. This year we are going away for Christmas, and so it will be just us - I can't wait.0

fair enough if people want to stay at home, but it sounds like the op actually enjoys going to her parents house. I do, i couldn't imagine christmas without a huge family meal (and i'd have to cook if we stayed at home lol!)52% tight0

1 year pre-kids we agreed to go to my mothers for christmas tea she does a big spread and was starting it at 4) and my mil's for lunch. Then mil announced she wasn't serving lunch till 3, she already knew we were going elsewhere for tea. We lived in a different county and had intended having a leisurely morning by ourselves, then 1 of our sisters sulked cos there was a relative who they made up a xmas dinner for early on and she didn't want to go alone,so we didn't have our lie in so one of us could go delivering the xmas dinner with our sibling.
I had a sulky mil cos we weren't stopping long at her house after lunch and a sulky mother cos we weren't eating much of our tea.
We spent all day running round trying to please other people, not acheiving it and putting ourselves out in the process.
add in cold turkey seved with warm accompanments (bleeuuurrrggghhh)

You haven't met my sons. Give them the smallest chink in the logic of something I've said, and they'll find it, razor sharp minds from a VERY young age, sometimes you can hear the cogs whirring ...:rotfl: :T I am seriously impressed that you've thought of that before they have.:DSignature removed for peace of mind0 -
