I am rubbish at asking for refunds and infact have only ever done it as part of a mystery shop!! I think i might return things now adays, but it would depend on what it was and whether it was worth it:o

As for Martin's tips on haggling, that is never going to happen, couldn't do it in Morocco, never mind here:rotfl:

Didn't get to make extra food for tomorrow as everyone ate it for tea:D

However am now defrosting freezer and have stuck food outside so that it will keep cool!! Am using pans of hot water that i cooked the veg in, to help defrost the freezer, saves me boiling the kettle:D

    Today I have..

    - Listed 5 CDs on Amazon/Playtrade and packed up two items that sold which I will post tomorrow.
    - Put together a strange dinner just using leftovers in the fridge.
    - Went through my cupboards to see if I have any new items that will do as Christmas presents. Luckily, I found a couple of unwanted gifts that will be perfect for other people.
    - I gave up cross stitch a while ago, but I found some card blanks, thread and fabric I forgot I had to I'm going to make some Christmas cards tonight.

    Evening everyone!!

    Today I have
    • Done all my paperwork decluttering
    • Cleaned my car myself - rather than taking to the hand car wash - saving £6.00
    • Sorted out my 2 DS's toys - 2 bags to go to school for xmas fair, 1 bag of rubbish/broken toys!
    • Online banking
    • Got £45 off my brother - as I've got some xmas pressies for him
    • Only used dryer for towels - rest on radiators
    • Washed clothes for ebay sales due to end tonight!
    • Store cupboard lunch & am now going to cook tomorrow night's dinner (lasagne - mince wasn't defrosted in time to have it today!)
Think that's about enough!! Do need to do some ironing but will probably do this tomorrow night instead! Kids uniforms etc are all ironed and laid out for tomorrow.

Forgot to add - also found a jigsaw that I got a couple of years ago as part of 3 for price of 2. Never opened. This will be perfect for DS2's friend's birthday present - 3 days before christmas;)

Lasagne now cooked - will put in side lean-to overnight so it will cool quickly & keep very cold:rotfl: - will time the oven to come on tomorrow so it'll be cooked when we get in!! PERFECT!!!

  • Today I put all the takings from my business into the bank to avoid temptation (except for a £5 note and £20 of coinage as I will need to give the customers change tomorrow). I also managed to arrange to collect an under the counter freezer unit from freecycle. I already have a fridge with freezer unit but in order to plan and freeze my meals more efficiently and economically, I needed more freezer space. It will undoubtedly push up the electricity bill but will save more than that on my food bill. Also, on Friday, I rang the customers who owe me the most to chase up some payments as some of them have been dragging their heels a bit (I've NEVER phoned for money before).

Thanks Andan. Even though I only live about 40minutes from Edinburgh, I have never actually been!! Being a West coast boy all my life I have never really left Glasgow as I could not stand 'salt and sauce' with my chips!:rotfl:

I'm a Lanarkshire girl who went to Uni in Glasgow but works in Edinburgh now. I lived in Edinburgh for 1 year as part of my course though and ever since then when I'm in Glasgow I miss Edinburgh and vice versa...

Edinburgh isn't so scary, you can even have vinegar with your chips, its an 'under the counter' condiment though...:rotfl:

  • Tee hee KT I figured you for a fifer!!!! Just shows how wrong a girl could be. I base this judgement on the fact you live about 40mins-1hr from Ed.......clearly its in a different direction!!

Have been reading your diary honest, just looks like I have not paid much attention!!
