World Cup 2006 Germany - Information

Had all but given up on getting tickets.

Sunday sat on the Fifa website clicking through there ticketshop. After about 3 hours one of the yellow-available tickets I chose was actually there. Put my details in and bought it.

One bonus was I could use a VISA card, think they got shouted at for only allowing Mastercard. The money has been taken and confirmation received.

Going to Brazil vs Croatia (2 tickets) in Berlin can't believe it.

Got flight from East Midland for 49p each way, £30 all in with tax and the Clarion Berlin hotel for £45 a night.

Can't believe how cheap it was I though the prices would be through the roof.

I've been keeping an eye on the tickets site today. So far, I've seem Dortmund semi final tickets come up twice, and Gelsenkircken Quarter Final tickets come up 5 times. Keep looking, people - there are tickets to be had. I even saw one of the games come up as R earlier on (released by someone who has already bought the tickets).

Hi all,

I've been trying for ages to complete an order for tickets. The tickets appear to be available however ever time I get stuck on the 'Ticket Shop' page then either a message appears saying I'm too late or I endlessly hit the 'next' button!!

Is it just a matter of continuously trying?

Well, I was messing about, trying to pick up anything - just to see what would happen. I never managed it past the waiting room before. Well, that was until today when I accidentally managed to pick up three tickets to a match in Munich. (These were R tickets - resellers). Whilst I had these in my basket (as it had let me through to the check out area), I was able to see the other R tickets and put any I wanted in my basket. I put in two tickets to see France vs Togo. Now, I wouldn't have minded buying those two tickets. The OH was willing to take him to a match, as long as it was near the OH's parents house (they live in Dortmund). Basically, that means any match in Dortmund, Frankfurt, Gelsenkircken, Cologne, Hanover and, if necessary, Hamburg. Munich's too far for the OH to drive. (I'm flying alone to Stuttgart).

Anyway, I could not find a way to dump the 4 Munich tickets out of my basket and keep the Cologne (France) tickets. After a while, the site kicked me out of the checkout area. So, I patiently waited, knowing the France tickets would show up again, as they were about to be released from my basket. I F5'd with one hand, with the other hand on my mouse, which was positioned over the R next to the relevant match. As soon as I saw it go bold, I was in there, clicking away and putting them in my basket. However, some !!!!!! beat me to it! I can't believe it. I have no idea how they were quicker than me. The only think I can think of is that they were picked up in the same way I picked them up (someone already with tickets in their basket, adding another resell package to their list). So, I'm back f5ing and waiting. I've been at this all day!

Really frustrated with this now. I went in yesterday and managed to get through to the waiting room with 2 semi final tickets. Waited over 3 hours then my cousin rang me to say he was trying to get in and the site was donw. They had closed the site and not bothered to kick me out of the waiting room. I have no idea how long I was in there and the site was not even working!! i have emailed them for an explanation 3 times and had noting back. Oh well keep trying

Only thing more expensive is flights so you might have to find some other way - Ferry's / Eurostar.

But you'd be surprised how cheap it works out.

Those of you who have been using the World cup site to look for tickets, can you tell me what's supposed to happen. I've seen a ticket for matches I want to see, clicked on and got the "copy down the code" page which then leads to the 30 seconds to try again page. After a couple of tries again I'm left with a page without any further tries. Is this still an active page? Am I supposed to wait here for something to happen or do I refresh again until I get the try again countdown again. This WILL make sense to those of you have been through this nightmare process. All I really want to know is whether getting past the 30 second countdown to the frozen waiting room page is actually taking me forward. (What a pathetic system it is BTW) Thanks for any help.

I got flights for £24 return including tax!!!

Just fly to a city where England AREN'T playing then get the train!!

E.g. my flights are to Berlin when England won't get chance to play there until after the group stages!
