the tickets are very, very, very expensive, the best way of even going to the WC is if i win some sort of competition from media channels!
  • We cant afford the England tickets but my OH and mate want to go to world cup arriving 14 Jun, watching a match on 15th June and leavign on 16th June - do you still have to book these tickets by 15th Jan. Also we cant seem to find any accommodation in Berlin for 14 and 15th Jun - any pointers please..

theres no deadline for tickets as such, the date you refer to is the end of the latest round of fifa'a ticket lottery, so if you have signed up for that you may get lucky and will be notified by fifa if so, otherwise its either try again in the next ticket lottery round or just go and try getting some off the touts, not always as expensive as you might think.as regards to your accommodation have you tried here http://www.berlin-tourist-information.de/international/suchen-buchen/hotelsuche.php?sprache=en&auftragskennung=berlin.de they may have something for you if you are struggling, the stuttgart equivalent did when i was in a similar postion.

not so,the dearest tickets for a group game are 100 quid the cheapest are £20, i think you are getting expensive and hard to get confused with each other.
  • hi

i booked through totalstay.com for the 11-14th in berllin
cheapest on the net i could find and you should be able to find a hotel there

i would def book b4 the closing date as i dont think fifa will be having another round of sales.

i expect this to be the last 1

    hope this helps
  • Great information so far - Many Thanks to all contributors

I registered for tickets on the FIFA web site also

Looks like we're travelling from Hull - Zeebrugge and driving to the finals from there

I'm doing research on camp sites at the moment -- will post my findings on this thread

It appears the Germans are pulling out all of the stops to make the finals a success

    COME ON ENGLAND!!
  • Thanks to everyone who has helped me. I have now put OH name on waiting list and got accommodation booked - but my thanks button has disappeared:T :T

For folks who'll be there at the weekend the trains are v cheap if you get a wochenende ticket - its about a tenner and it'll unlimited travel for the day (some restrictions on what trains you can use). When i worked in germany i used these all the time (back then it was unlimited travel for up to 6 people for the whole weekend but they've reined in the tickets alot more according to friends). The upshot of it all is that you can stay a little bit out from where the games are being played - which sohuld be cheaper - and still be able to get into city centres handy enough.

For folks coming from amsterdam, get your dutch ticket to the first big station in germany (probably dussledorf or munchengladbach depending how you go); you can get the weekend tickets at any station but the border stations tend to be small and trains infrequent so no point in spending an hour in the german sticks to save a couple of quid.

  • So glad I found this thread! Has anyone got any other details of camping sites similar to the one the wizard's pointed out?
