ICESAVE ISA Transfer Certificate from FSCS

Happily people seem to be getting their money returned without too many hitches.:T
Some of those lucky people must by now have been reunited with their funds for two weeks.
I would really interested to know:

Has anyone received an ISA Transfer Certificate from the FSCS yet?

Did the transfer go smoothly?

Yes me too but they said it could take up to 2 weeks for the certificate to arrive.
  • I just count myself lucky that I was one of the first to receive my compensation - happy to wait on certificate.

Agreed - though I was told by Scottish Widows that I could still apply for my new ISA and send the certificate once I've got it. Application is in progress, so will know in a couple of weeks how smooth it's been.
  • I've had my money 10 days, still no certificate. ..

I still havnmt got my 2nd e mail but I intend to immediately transfer my dosh to a fixed rate easy access account by email then I will be getting 6.25% until the FSA decide to send out the certificates. Only when its arrived will I go back to the RBS who are giving me 2% bonus on transferred ISA's for 1 year = 6.75% (the basic rate is variable though). Hope that gives you some help. Dont leave a load of dosh in your bank getting no interest.

  • I transferred my money 2 weeks ago and phoned the FSCS today as I still hadn't had the certificate, they advised that I may not receive it until the end of December.

So there is no chance that we will be able take advantage of the current 'ISA transfer' offers such as the one Nat West are offering. :(

  • check with Natwest if you can open an a/c without the certificate, scottish widows are doing this & i'm sure others will be aswell. just need to send the certificate at a later date :)

Someone in the ISA forum has suggested that the FSCS wont be issuing certificates till later in December.
