I'm looking for an OS alternative of how to get stubborn bits off food off pans/bowls. (before anyone suggests - not elbow grease!)
I've been using the fairy spray (the one Ainsley Harriott advertises) but have run out now and i don;t intend on buying any.
...and before i get banned from the OS board for having fairy spray in my kitchen rather than just vinegar, bicard&essential oils :snow_grin .... in my defence, i only had the spray in the first place because i got it when it was on try-me-free a few months ago! :snow_grin
Thanks

Depending on what your pans are made of .. I personally use a solution of very hot water and soda crystals - soak for a while, then an ordinary pan sponge scourer will lift off any marks - did it today with a caked on oven shelf - soaked it for about 30mins ... came up gleaming
(ok, I did have to manually rub it with the sponge scourer - but it really wasn't "elbow grease"

I was thinking mainly for non-stick pans (teflon?), glass lasagne bowls, baking trays, ceramic bowls with crusty shepards pie on.... that kind of thing....
thanks0 -
Washing powder will lift it off too, or maybe that's not old style enough? I can vouch for soda crystals they shift anything LOL0

Yes, I would say try biological washing powder, its great on stubborn burned/greasy bits.0

I use one of those sponges with a fine metal backing, soak the offending object in soda crystals and washing up liquid, then use the scourer to life off any remaining stubborn bits,. try the scourers very gently on the non stick pans....... persoanlly I never wash my baking trays, have had them for years and they are now non stick through use, just wipe them with kitchen roll, or f there is boiled over jam on them a damp cloth lifts it off.....
