rusty roasting tin

Putting my pots and pans away this morning i have noticed that my roasting tin has gone all rusty.

I used it yesterday to do a chicken (with a little white wine for gravy) and then washed it straight after the meal and left it to drain. Anyone any idea why it has gone rusty? and should i just throw it away?

Hope this isn't a reflection on my cooking skills :-[

try giving it a good wash with a little bio powder, but if its gone very rusted it s buggeredbasically.

two of mine went like this, had to throw them out, but another was revived with above.

rub it with a teaspoon of veg. oil after washing it, look after it as you would a proper wok. The oil will stop the rust forming again, as you will make a natural protective layer.

I think Kim and Aggie suggest using washing up liquid and half a potato

I have a few bread tins that have gone very rusty - is there really nothing I can do to restore them and use them?

I was really hoping that someone here would have the magic (natural) recipe to vanish rust, maybe with vinegar, borax or bicarb....

    :(
