"I did broadcast saying 'batten down the hatches there's some really stormy weather on the way' - if the full clip is used all would be revealed."
Ah, but the media never likes the truth to get in the way of a good story, even when the person they're misrepresenting is part of the media circus.
The Great Storm did a lot of good, destroying trees that were weak or past their sell-by date, though when I visited Wisley in late October '87, it certainly didn't look like that!0 -

have you forgotten about the programme director, the programme editor, the production company and the channel that broadcast it?
why is there nothing directed at them - have all these people that hate her stopped watching the channel it was broadcast on?0 -
Who described her as a 'property guru' anyway? She's allowed to have an opinion, even if it is wrong. You could just as much blame the newspapers/TV news for inviting her to give her opinion.0

good point about C4 - a channel with a public service remit.
maybe we should fix our steely gaze in that direction and demand that it cease broadcasting this poisonous trash, pronto.miladdo0 -

but the problem that you would have here is that TV Channels (in theory and probably reality) broadcast what the public want to view.
the general public wanted and probably still want to view these programs.
members of this MSE sub-board want to see other programs - they're not the general public0 -
There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that Krusty Allsop is 100% to blame for the Global Economic Meltdown\ The Housing Bubble\Housing Crisis.
I also have a nagging suspicion that she had something to do with Pearl Harbour.0 -

to the point where more means less.
if people want to slob out in front of this dross, then by all means.
but it should be clearly categorized as 'fiction' and carry a wealth warning to any suggestible members of the gen. public.
or would that defeat the point?miladdo0 -

you've answered your own questions...
anyone who took advice or purchased off the back of these TV programs is crazy.
the programme director or editor are probably a better target - they're the ones that chose the pieces from the filming that would appeal to the 'suggestible' members of the viewing public...0 -
It's funny, she's absolutely correct in that video posted earlier. Those people, between 2005 and 2007 will have lost a fortune. I had a house in London between that period and my house increased by a massive percentage.
The HPC.co.uk lot have been talking of a crash since 2003 haven't they? Isn't that when the first site went live?
Well if I'd have listened to their advice between 2003 and 2007 I'd be a much much poorer man for it. At the same time during these years Kirsty has been encouraging people to buy which has made them a lot of money.
So between 2003 and 2007 the HPC lunatic lot were totally wrong and responsible for losing people hundreds of thousands if not millions. The opposite is true for Kirsty.
Now, due to market conditions beyond anyone's wildest predictions the property market is suffering. That wasn't because the HPC lot werte clever and saw the SP market issues, no, it was just coincidental. Anyone can predict anything given a long enough timeframe.
Watch this, house prices will increase by 40%. See, that's true, they will. Someday...
As for Kirsty herself, she's okay but she's a TV personality. As chucky says, anyone taking investment advice on the basis of what Timmy Mallet or Angelina Jolie says deserves everything they get.0 -

But they only made a lot of money if they sold the houses near the top.0
