Hi All!
As requested by IFhere are some of my 'crunched numbers'
My balances currently....
Egg Loan £4528.57 @7.9%
Barclay CC £1780.65 @6.9% (LOB)
Abbey CC £6549.62 @26.485% yuck
Halifax CC £2077.79 @0%
Tesco CC £1980.30 @17.47% yuckish
Egg CC £72.07 @16.9%
Repayments to these at the moment are (approx £511 a month:rolleyes:)
Here's where it gets interesting and a little
@ £511 it would take 44 months
@ £611 it would take 34 months
@ £661 it would take 31 months
@ £711 it would take 28 months
@ £761 it would take 26 months
@ £811 it would take 24 months (currently £300 more than I pay out!)
So, now all I need to do is work out what I can realistically afford to pay each month and see how that sits in the above table! Due to being paid weekly, this may take a little while - so please don't hold your breath!!
In the meantime I have written a little list for this evening.... I am sure I can reduce the repayment time by moving some balances around to lower APR's.....
I have a new 0% that I need to utilise (only got a £500 limit though)
I need to speak to Barclays about an interest rate deal for BT
I need to speak to Abbey to get them to reduce their APR just incase I can't move it anywhere else!
Right, off to do some work (where has the day gone?)

44 months isn't that bad for £17k. You could aim for that (which is achieveable because you're doing that at the moment) and say set yourself a challenge to save £100 extra per month, which will knock ten months off it.
Also that Abbey CC - OUCH!!!!!!! Is it possible to get a personal loan to pay it off, or is your credit score not brilliant. I want to cry for you having to fight that beastStart Date: 27/11/2010

Hi IF!!

Good morning - and thanks for the vote of confidence IF and OBNW!
So, last night I went home and .....
Spoke to Barclays - no BT offers at the moment
Spoke to Abbey, who apparently cannot lower the APR on an existing balance and if there was any space on the card (say I managed to get the balance onto another card!) they haven't got any BT offers on either
Both cards said that they are still doing offers, just need to keep an eye out in the post for mine!
I then thought I would see if I could increase my credit limit on my Egg Money card (I lowered both limits before christmas to reduce the amount of credit available to me!) But no!
'"B*mmer" said Dougal!'
So, all I am left with now is my new Santander card (0% £500) which I can put some on (but not directly from my Abbey card as they are the same group!) and then fill up my Egg Money card to its limit of £2500.00 Not a lot, but better than nothing I 'spose!
Kinda had enough at this point last night, so had a nice glass of red wine. I will get back on the phone tonight and move as much around as I can!
So, for now, thats me.....Officially stuck with a horrendous APR!!
Whoops!:rotfl:start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0
