Back from hospital and blood is playing up again  typical!!

I bought a huge quiche tray from ebay monday (10"..massive) for £4 inc postage and when it came today it was of excellent quality and very pleased. OH made some shortcrust pastry, and tidied all mess after  miracle! I sweated in butter an onion, green pepper and a few mushrooms that were all in desperate need of using up, then added some bacon and ham that needed using too. Baked pastry for 10mins, then added the above and OH beated 5 eggs and milk, added to base-cooked for 10mins then added grated cheese over the top. Cooked for 30mins on 150c.....it looks and smells delish.

Have taken a picture and want to show you guys...but how do I do that  tried copying and pasting link, but thats not it..OH has popped out, so cant even ask him..Im surprised I was able to use the camera and add pics to laptop

DW-I would be lost without my DW, mainly because of lack of energy and because Im lazy :o I wash up glasses by hand most of the time and just use the cheapie washing liquid which is excellent. DW goes on once a day and never gets smelly. A DW is a luxury and not very OS, but with me-I sorted my priorities out and thought Id rather cook from scratch and use the DW than use the DW and be too knackered to cook IYKWIM. If I was still working FT, it would definitely be used. Only had a DW for about 4 years and always washed by hand. I cant bear to see any dirty plates/cups etc on the side and would rather them be away on the DW :D I use the tablets, and buy when on special at Makros...normally about 6 months worth for £10.

Anyways, gonna go but will call in later...hopefully.

    Take Care.

    Dishwasher?

Well, I don't have too many other vices....

(in other words I can't think of any way to justify having and using a dishwasher, except that I am lazy regarding washing up!)

When I was working I had 4 children and a fulltime job with sifts (nursing) and I still washed up and cooked OS.

    I LOVE MY DW!!!! :j
It's like the rest of Old Style - you can base your entire lifestyle on it, or you can pick and choose the parts which make you richer/less stressed/more environmentally responsible etc. Many's the time I've seen newbies on the Debt Free Wannabe board being told "If you look at the Old Style board they're bound to save you loads... some of the lifestyle content may seem a bit extreme but there are always loads of good suggestions".

Tootles - if you don't think certain labour-saving devices are Old Style, fine - personally I can't justify a dishwasher or breadmaker but I wouldn't be without my automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge-freezer, microwave... Is all our talk about traditional lifestyles done over the back fence with the next door neighbour? Nope, it's all made possible by new-fangled gizmos called computers, without which I wouldn't have all of you lot as my next door neighbours, so I suppose none of us are really old style at all :D:D

It's all about seeking a balance that suits your own life.

:grouphug: Queenie - in the nicest possible way - chill! You're brilliant!

I don't think anybody's trying to knock you hun - we're just all wondering how you manage to fit it all in, and your posts have such a sense of energy that they give the mental image of your little "housework fairy" avatar flopping down exhausted with a cuppa at the end of it :D

We all think you're great, you inspire us all, and I don't think anybody's intended to be patronising or critical towards you (unless I've missed something in my skim-reading of the thread). Sorry if you're feeling that way :grouphug:

Queenie I'm really sad that you feel this way. I hope nothing I've posted has hurt your feelings. I REALLY echo Bargain Rzl's statements. You are an inspiration, truely. No one of us really, truely understands what the other posters on here are coping with.

I dont know how others feel but I really am helped by all of you posting in the daily thread. Reading it really does inspire me and make me think that I CAN do something today. Even if its just getting dressed :o and yes, some days are that way. For all of us I imagine. Please take heart love, you ARE loved, you ARE appreciated and you ARE welcome.

I only post when I have something worth saying that I hope, by sharing, may encourage, motivate, stimulate and give a different perspective to like minded others - so I thought

You DO do this for me. Discovering OS has helped me to start finding a way out of my depression and cope with my day to day life. I've learnt to LOVE cooking from scratch, my kids now join in and we get bl***y messy (as does the kitchen) but we have FUN. Thats something they havent known from me in a long time. I learn from your posts, as I do everyones.

Your words ARE positive, you've helped to make ME more positive. I want to thank you Queenie, not make you feel shunned, so THANKYOU!!!!!!
