    Hi everyone,

We have hired Jack Russell to recover our money from one client who didn't want to pay. There was more that 5k
The agreement was made over the phone and we received an email with confirmation that they deal with our case and the fee will be 10%+ vat for the service. All right.

One day Julia - she runs our case, rang me and said that they are going to maka an agreement with our debtor that first payment will be in 6 weeks time for 2k. I wasn't very happy but no choice, I agreed. I said to her please send an email with all the details that you have just said to me. She wasn't happy but said that she will do it tomorrow. Email never arrived!!!

6 weeks passed nothing happen. My director was really not happy and wanted to cancell the agreement with them. I called Julia again and said that my director is not happy becouse we havent received any money. She said this is crazy, will take a month to clear the payment!! Can you belive it??? WHAT! Then I ask when did you recieved this first payment, she said on the beginnig of Nov. They received OUR money and sit quiet!!
AND, I asked her so many times, that I want to have your terms & conditions by email, info about progress of recovering, how much and when, whats teh agreement with the debtor. I called to the office with this issue.
Finally my director decided to call them complaining and saing that he will report them to authorities. They promissed to send an email. NOTHING! they don't care!

Now they managed to recoved the whole amond - I know that from my debtor!! Then called her again with question when they make a transfer to us? she said this week. OK! how much? all money - commision. OK! I ask about an email confirmation. Never arrived!
Then I sent and email to them with transfer confirmation from the debtor saying: As you have confirmed today that a all our recovered money minus your commission, will be transferred to us this week then please arrange a transfer...
    Replay:
This is now with our accounts deptartment to raise the invoices and we will revert back with the transfer asap.
And where is written confirmation that payment will be this week....

I am tired to call them, sending emails.

  • Hi!

I've been in contact with them for 2 years now and all they managed to get out of me was 500 GBP prior even starting any business at all. It was odd to me since foreign agencies in other countries never asked for this (no effort - no fee, sort to speak).
Be aware! There's a person Julie who doesn't write back e-mails, neither she will phone you back even if you leave her a voice mail etc.
BE AWARE, STAY ALERT! I am going to report them today!
I wish I have seen your posts ages ago, it would well have spent me the effort not to mention the stress and money.
    Good luck to ya all!

I would like to give Jack RUssell a shake up, but where to start?
If you can show that they did collect money on your behalf, then setting other agencies on them (make sure the arrangement is set up properly this time), is a marvellous idea.

  • I have spent the last year persuing Jack Russell for a refund on work they did not do for me. I had a debt of £70000 from a relative and they said they would collect this for me so I paid them £411.25 first payment to prepare and personally serve a Statutory Demand.
After a year and nothing had been done by Jack Russell I eventually got my money from the relative by persuing it myself and getting a solicitor involved. I asked for a refund and they said they would give me part of it as they were taking some for admin costs. I decided to take them to court and they then said they were counterclaiming for 5% commission of the debt I had been repaid.
They didn't turn up at court when they should and said they had not received things even though they were sent registered post and signed for. Eventually we had a proper hearing and the evidence they brought was all fabricated around the case I had prepared. They lied in court and brought in false documents which I could prove and the judge ruled in my favour to give me a refund and my court costs. She also said she was extremely concerned about the evidence they brought into court and dismissed their counterclaim. I have been paid by Jack Russell and have passed my case records and their false documents to Trading Standards who are dealing with this on my behalf as the T & C's were a concern to the Judge and also to Trading Standards. There are probably many people out there who have been out of pocket thanks to Jack Russel and I would say don't let them get away with owing you money. Kerry Bland is a liittle wimp who tries to bully people.
  • I was about to sign up with JR to recover some debts from a couple of tenants, a close call by the looks of things. Can anyone suggest a good agency?
    Thanks

Wow, I wish I had read this thread also.
Looks like im getting the run around as well from them as well, having left a deposit to chase debt for me.

When looking like a helping hand, looks like the mentioned company come along to kick you when your down!
  • Beware of this company. I instructed them to recover a debt of over £6,000, for which they gladly accepted my fee of £180 after badgering me initially. I explained clearly that the case had not gone to court and that I wanted them to do this for me. Subsequently, there was a series of long silences, unreturned telephone calls and clear evidence that they simply had not read my initial instruction or any of those subsequently sent. Finally, I realised that I had wasted my money. On May 15th I wrote to Managing Director Kerry Bland at length, explaining the situation in detail and requesting a refund. I have had no reply to my letter nor any acknowledgement of it.
My next step will be to report this company to the Office of Fair Trading and to contact the Financial Ombudsman in an attempt to recover my money. I see that others have suffered at the hands of Jack Russell. Does anyone have any advice on possible further action, please. In the meantime, take my advice and do not touch this company with a bargepole.
  • I appointed these guys to chase a debt and they did nothing, no communication, extremely rude, quite possibly the worst run company! From my understanding they run off one mobile phone number, and share one email address. Can't get hold of anyone at any time.

They have a long history of running a dodgy business. Just read the reviews below!

  • Luckily I found this info before sending them money. I suspended something dodgy when they refused to issue an invoice for me. Does anyone know other debt collector agency that is good?
