Scottish and southern energy "may" reduce prices in the new year. Sounds about right.
The big six are in a position NOW to announce price reductions, they can even babble on about unstable markets and uncertain future prices if they like, if it makes them happy ill swallow their rubbish.
Here and now though they are in a position to strike now, after all they are quick enough to increase and warn of future increases when prices consistently go up.
The markets been dropping for some time now. So its NOW time to drop prices.0

Aaaahhh...but who would buy their silly fixed tariffs if they announced imminent decreases? The energy industry is an absolute and utter disgrace at the moment. The energy industry is an absolute and utter disgrace at the moment.
PS I note that British Gas have removed their frankly ridiculous BEST BUY graphic from their 2012 Fix Tariff ad  It's now a 'Limited Offer' . Roll up, roll up, hurry, don't miss out on this cr*p ofer! . Roll up, roll up, hurry, don't miss out on this cr*p ofer! Are you claiming now that you are an appointed energy expert?1carminestocky wrote: »logie28, take care! You will shortly be accused of being either mentally challenged and/or of illogical ranting by one or 2 self-appointed 'energy experts'
Why don't you tell us, since you are obviously an expert?(one of which can't quite decide exactly how far in the future the energy companies buy their fuel, is it between 1 and and 5 months or 6 and 9 months? ).
The fact is, it doesn't matter how far in advance they buy gas because whatever number of months you pick, the price they paid for the gas coming into our houses right now still hasn't come down from a peak. It's winter. Demand is higher in the winter and that can be predicted in advance, therefore the prices for winter months were higher than summer or autumn months all through the year, not just for a week or so when oil peaked.0

I would love my electricity bills to come down.
 However:
I pay for my electricity in Pounds, not Dollars
It's priced in the UK markets, not the WTI, and
It mainly comes from coal, gas, and nuclear, not oil.
So I don't really see why I should expect my price to be tied directly to the cost of a barrel of oil, in dollars, in America Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0 Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0

I work for accountants and their maths is not good either - rely entirely on calculators:rotfl: :rotfl: What would happen if computers and calculators disappeared because not that many people have brains to fall back on nowadays:DStopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

I'm in no way an expert. In that regard we are alike. Where we differ is I don't proclaim to be an expert and attempt to belittle people who don't 'get' my oh so logical argument (you know, the 'logical' argument that keeps having the goalposts removed). :rolleyes:Call me Carmine....

Wow, unbelievable, The big six quote, price of oil being linked with gas prices and other commodities, we buy our oil by the barrel by the $. That is the global markets price. The global markets are falling!!
Even when price was $145+ a barrel the £ was nearly 2 for $1. Apparently that did not count then.... for what ever reason or excuse,, even with extortionate barrel prices we had a strong buying pound.
The facts are.. the independent government body says prices should fall, A energy company predicts price decreases (possibly), the prime minister says prices should fall, The markets say prices should fall and the public say prices should fall,
Low and behold i go on a money saving website and i find people who say the market is right!! who stick up for these companies!!! even make excuses for them!! Even if i was employed y them i would be ashamed,
If you want to get shafted you need to type in a different www.0
