OK, tonight I've posted directly onto or contacted the following websites and asked them to add a message asking for help to find Inra

    Bakewell Forum
Derby and South Derbyshire Ramblers Association
    Derbyshire Mammal Group
    Derbyshire Online
    Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
    Song of the Paddle

The message I've asked them to add is
    Help needed to find Inra

Inra is a black, medium sized dog (Labrador x Collie) with a greying muzzle, however, his most distinguishing feature are his distinctive ears, one sticking up and one that flops over.

He has been missing since March of last year (2008). Inra is difficult to capture because he was so cruelly and consistently mis-treated by his original owners - so he fears all humans want to hurt him and he will run away if approached.

There have previously been reports of sightings around Shipley County Park, Smalley, Ockbrook, Risley, Stanton-by-Dale, Coxbench, Holbrook and Belper. Recently (Dec) it appeared he was living in Shining Cliff Woods at Ambergate. We need to know of any sightings so that volunteers can leave food and attempt to rescue Inra.

    Can you help please?

To Report Sightings of Inra Please Ring:
    Danny on 07758 709 337
    or Lesley on 07920 528 554
    or Sue on 07980 130 348

Find out more and about Inra and see a photo of him on Facebook.

  • Miss H - Thankyou - it may be a bit far North for you - but please keep your eyes out on your travels - currently he could be anywhere in quite a wide area - but if you can pass the info on to as many people as possible we may just get some sightings.

This is a map showing his sightings since March 2008

  • Just found this thread and very sorry for the poor dog, have you tried East Midlands today? central news? How about even posting on freecycle for Derby, Ilkeston and surrounding areas? Do you think the mods would let you? I am trying to think of local groups.

I really hope the dog gets found and a good home too :)

a lot of freecycle groups have 'sister' cafe groups for things like this - would be worth emailing the mods of the local groups and asking. you can find a list of groups here:
    http://www.freecycle.org/group/UK

you'll need a yahoo id to join and post, and might be worth emailing the mods if you are joining a few groups at the same time or you might get flagged as a poss spammer
I can't think of anything interesting to write here.........
