God I hope this poor dog is found, what a horrible life he must have had, to be so afraid of humans.0

Am sat here with my two oldies and tears streaming down my face. The poor soul. Is there any update?
How can another dog person shoo away an old emaciated ill dog is beyond belief to me.
Sorry I didn't read it all so missed yesterdays update0 -
Thanks everyone for the good wishes -i can't help with the searching but i noticed you said local radio aren't interested in helping again, i work in public relations and just wanted to give you a few more ways of reaching the public which might help. thanks!
- try all radio stations, not just the bbc, there's likely to be a commercial radio station of two in the area Have done, the commercial stations gve a blanket 'no' to lost dog stories (think they feel its a bit parochial and not 'cool' enough!) - the bbc have covered it before, and dont want to do it again as they feel its old news. (he hs been lost almost 11 months now)
- parish magazines are always looking for local stories, try you local council who might have a list of the parish magazines or at least of all the parishes in the area, then just put together a piece of text and a photograph and send to them excellent idea, thanks, will try this
- lots of schools have newsletters these days, similarly with contacting the council, see if you can get a list of schools and send them some words and a photograph again thanks - difficulty is at the moment we dont have such a restricted area to focus on so could be a lot of schools!
- i'm guessing you've tried your local paper already? always worth giving them a call and if they're reluctant ask if they'll hold onto the story until they are short on news and need to fill space, i know it sounds bad, just filling space but it's better than nothing.no thats a good idea - they have been quite good at covering it in the past and do put updates in occasionally.
hope these help
thanks a lot, some great ideas there which I will try. If anyone else has anything to add (ideas, contacts etc etc) please do post ...0 -
FC, I'm too far away to offer practical help searching for Inra unfortunately, but wondered if you thought it would be worth setting up a Facebook for Inra? It might help his story reach more people, especially young people in Derbyshire?
There could be links to articles about him, a photo and anything else which might encourage people to click on his link and be aware that he is being searched for?
I'd be happy to try to sort this, (and any other internet networking systems) if you think it is appropriate?
Poor, poor dog, I hope so much he is found and can enjoy some kindness and comfort for the rest of his days.My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Racyred -could you set up a facebook page for Inra??? As far as I know there is not currently one, but facebook will not let me in to check as I do not have an account - could you possbily check first?
I would really appreciate it, thanks - I dont use facebook (I have all sorts of big brother concerns about it) but I do seem to be in a minority!! It has crossed my mind, but I havent got round to finding out how to do it!
However, would it be possible that I could have the password for it, so it could be updated regularly?
I think initially the updated info I have posted in the post above plus Inra's pictures would be the key info it would need to contain. I would be immensely grateful.0 -
I'm checking now, if there isn't one already I'll set one up and PM you the login details. Can you give me a Derbyshire postcode for RSPCA if there is one please?
I've just googled Inra and there are some good links to articles, and this thread

thanks. Hang on I will try and find the postcode - sadly the RSPCA he came from are not currently involved in helping find him though.0

Let me know the name when done & i'll join I love FacebooK!0

ok, the postcode for the rspca at derby is (45 Abbey St Derby,) DE22 3SP
However, as I said they are no longer actively involved - (everyone looking now are volunteers doing this in their own time).
Inra was homed from the RSPCA to someone on the outskirts of Derby, but four days later, his new owner lost him in the fields between Spondon and Ockbrook.
here - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=spondon%20&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl
from here he has generally been seen north - smalley, ambergate, shipley country park etc etc. with the last reliable sightings being at Ambergate, Shining Cliff woods in mid December.0 -
OK, Inra has Googlemail and is on facebook
Inra's Facebook page
Please add him to your friends list and suggest him as a friend to anyone who might possibly have friends in Derbyshire. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
