Just out of curiosity i'm wondering why your not keen on swisscenter?

I'm having a mare installing the software - the documentation isn't great and it doesn't want to play nicely with my PHP5 install.

You can see the fun I'm having here

  • Yeah I had a lot of errors due to permissions also, eventually I just gave it all the permissions it needed - I am quite tight about security aswell. So as the server i was using for the show center was to be dedicated i thought it would be quicker to add the show center and the server to its own vlan and use acls on the router for specific features such as the internet radio

A got a simlar but smaller and wired box a few weeks ago - Hauppauge MVP ISTR PC World were getting rid of these V cheap earlier on. If you have a TV card then they also make a good PVR with some freebie software.

  • Thats not exactly the same thing - the show center is a dedicated hardware device that plugs in to the TV via Scart and has a network port/wifi card in it to stream the media off a network server

It is though. Scart connecter to the TV, RJ45 for ethernet and software on a PC. So wired rather than wireless, but I picked mine up for £21. Those screenshots were what you see on TV, not just on a PC.

  • Grrrr...........after 25 minutes on the phone to PC World, while they tried to find the product using that code, he eventually found it and told me that nowhere in the Coventry or surrounding area has one, even though Solihull and Selly Oak were showing 1 in stock !!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.............I so want one now.

Although the D-Link Medialounge looks quite nice, it is over £100. Not really money saving ! Unless someone can find it for around the same price as this one?

Boy Am I having a nightmare getting this thing to work.

How do I know if the belkin network adapter is working?

The software that arrived in box is version 1.7 but they are up to 2.5 (Ithink) and you have to remove all earlier versions before upgrading so I am now going to try a d/l from their (Soooo Slow) website.

I think that I may have upset my internet settings trying to set up the network as well. anyone tell me how to correct this?
