It is a waste of time and energy to fight for the freedom of sppech for those who oppose it.
What about the law of the land you can be arrested for saying certain things, we don't actually have total free speech.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I couldn't resist having a look, and sure enough there's a bloke a few doors away from me on the list.
What does etiquette require me to do?- Start a witch hunt.
- Shove a dog turd through his letter box.
- Take the p1ss out him everytime I see him?

what you need to do is find out if his house is on the market. if it is then put in an offer above market value and pull out on the day of exchange.
well, at least we're finally on topic now.0 -

It is a list of members ie people who have paid money to joint the BNP.
The rules (for certain jobs) say you can't be a member of the BNP. So anyone who has a job with those rules, then joins the BNP is knowingly breaking their contract of employment.
Pc on BNP member list suspendedbubblesmoney :hello:0 -
FairyElephant wrote: »Whilst I totally agree with the posters who say that people should be able to vote for whoever they like with anonymity - we are not talking a voters list here! - this is (if it is accurate and not tampered with) a list of people who are committed enough to their political view to join (and therefore give money to) a political party. This being the case I don't see why they should have a problem with others knowing what they believe in and stand for???
That said, the 'vigilantes' are obviously wrong, and anyone taking these sort of actions against anyone else (regardless of their beliefs) should have appropriate legal action taken against them.
As for people whose contracts of employment state that they will not a political party, if it is found out that they have done so, then they are in breach of contract and should be sacked. No question, no sympathy!
Now can someone publish a list of members of the Freemasons...that I would like to see!;)
what exactly are freemasons??? i have heard this term a few times but none the wiserbubblesmoney :hello:0 -

Nope.
Some braindead idiot a few posts back posted the link, it clearly says
British National Party membership and contacts list
According to news reports some of the people are on this list simply because they went along to a public meeting and gave their name and address. They aren't BNP members at all.The rules (for certain jobs) say you can't be a member of the BNP. So anyone who has a job with those rules, then joins the BNP is knowingly breaking their contract of employment.
That's not the case. Nobody has it in their contract of employment that they are not allowed to join the BNP. However, the government decided to make it illegal to hold certain opinions if you work for the police, and did ban police officers from being in the BNO. The problem with this policy is they don't have any sold evidence that these people are BNP members.
For starters the data is inherently unreliable as it could have been tampered with before it was released, 'www.bnpmemberslisthere.com' is not a reliable source of information. For another, not all of the people on the list are BNP members, some have simply been added to a mailing list. For another, all personal data records have errors. For another reason the data are not necessarily up-to-date - it used to be legal to be in the BNP while working for the police, but there's no guarantee that if you resigned you would not still be on their database.
Finally, that is only ONE job. The idea that whole swathes of employment ban people from private membership of registered political parties is just rubbish. It's only the police, so why make out that all these people are in breach of contract? The only ones that might be are policemen.
And as for policemen, if I was a serving policemen identified from that list, I'd tell them to f*** off, because it's absolutely shocking that it's seen as reasonable to conduct a witch hunt on the basis of illegally leaked 'evidence'. It wouldn't stand up in court, I'd say 'No, I'm not a member, if you can prove I am, sack me.'
That's the bottom line. How can you make it illegal to be a BNP member when it's impossible to prove if somebody is one? Unless they are out on BNP marches, there's absolutely no way of knowing.
Incidentally, one of the people on the list was involved in Far Right politics for at least 30 years. He's a lecturer, I was in his class, he was a nice man, there was an Asian girl in the class, one of my friends whispered to me that he had stood for Parliament for the NF, I didn't believe him, I had no idea (of course the internet reveals all these days). It didn't interfere with his job, in fact he got on very well with at least one of the right on lefty Blairite young types.0
