Can you point out what bit is grief that those with New Star fund investors will have to deal with? I cant spot it in that article

Investment life needs some cheer, and it comes around once a year, no not dividends from your lot overflowing from the pot, Christmas time it's here again! Silent night, Jingle bells, Qe2 and all is well. Investment spirit running low just say to your friend Ho Ho Ho!

Try the first paragraph "Shares in troubled New Star (NSAM) plunged by 75% today, as shareholders realised they will be left with almost nothing following plans to radically restructure the fund management group."

Thats shareholders. Not investors in New Star funds. Unless you funds had shares in New Star, there will be no impact.

Well Dunstonh, I stand by my assertion that the funds are there to make money and where they don't a major emergency should be sounded and the investors should be offered some chance to recover their loss i.e. move to a better performing fund at a discounted rate......simple civility that.:T

You can do that already. I can switch from one fund to another via my broker, usually at no cost.

Do you mean that you would want someone to monitor your portfolio and give you advice on how to manage it? I think such services exist. ;)
