it's been shut for several days. I can see the Glossop end of it from our upstairs windows.
The Woodhead is shut too and the A 624 at Hayfield.0 -

I can't believe you actually tried!
That is a vast amount of snow.
I'm only 4ft 8 so I would practically disappear in it too. Fingers crossed it melts soon and you can surface again!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

cannot beleive we got the car stuck going to the post box, don't know why I rushed to post a letter when there doesnt seem to be any post moving! Took our meagre pennies to Mr S and stocked up, really wanted to go mad in there but DH made me take it easy, think he is worried in case we have any major problems and have no cash. Still, am quite well stocked up but am going to keep the cupboard full as long as I can.
Manchester is still quite deep with snow but now its crunchy and very slippy on corners:eek:, keep watching the news looking for a house in Scotland with a sign on the roof - ' Help, need chocolate' then we will all know where Mardatha lives:jClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

You be careful woman!!! remember the days when people died in drifts. You go down quickly, don`t you. It happened to only a 3 feet drift years ago. You stand on it and you sink immediately0 -

Yaaaay Kittie ! the person who got me thinking for the very first time that all this stockpiling/survivalist stuff might not be so daft after all !
Re snow, yes, you just plonk your leg in, try to move the other leg, and then fall over LOL!
This has made me think though, that despite all the things I read & learned in here, I still need to do more. That asda delivery before xmas saved my bacon & if he hadnt made it then we would have been barbecuing the cat by now..0
