I have a relative who works in Boots and she told my mum that the sale is going to start a few days before Christmas. I will ask her about it when I'm home next.

AB_KW if you aren't going to spill anything, why bother posting? If I remember correctly you've been wrong about the offer of the weeks that you said weren't going to happen previously.
Last year the sale started about a week before christmas on line and everything was 1/2 price. the reason i remember is because i bought a scaletric track for my son which was £100 and it was reduced to £50. i phoned customer service to see if they would refund me the difference seeing that he hadn't even been given the present yet and they said that i would have to rebuy it and send the full price one back. the only problem with waiting till the sale starts is that you may not get it in time for christmas due to delivery times.

Not me  (no getting any ideas passion8 :rotfl: )

I would not be at all surprised if Boots started the 50% off sale before Christmas. Trading figures are so bad in the High Street that lots of the big retailers are having extra discount days and Boots themselves are having all these additional Points weekends as well as the Christmas shopping nights. They didn't do these extra weekends last year. And the reports are that the stock rooms are still stuffed with gift items. There's not a lot of difference for Boots between selling the gift items at 50% off and 3-4-2, especially with the extra points chucked in. Like all retailers they need cash in the till, not piles of stock sitting there. If it gets to a certain point in December where their trading targets are not even meeting the minimum requirements you'll see the sales signs going up, belive me.

And it won't just be Boots. Christmas Day is a Thursday this year, yup? My bet is that the High Street will wait till the trading figures for the weekend hit HO then the sales signs will be out, this side of Christmas. Does anyone remember back in the mid 80's when the M&S trading figures were so bad that they literally weren't going to meet the cash flow required to stay solvent into the New Year? They had a 50% off sale the week before Christmas. It crippled the profits for the year but it meant they stayed open.
    Val.
  • Am I the only one who is finding it difficult to keep up with all the pages on this thread due to the amount of chat that is not related to current offers/deals/glitches.

It does make reading through the posts take ages!!!

Could I just remind everyone that there is another thread (Boots refugees) for normal chatter.

    Sorry to be a moan.

Apologies if it's already been mentioned.

BOSS SOUL FOR MEN EDT 50ml is half-price this week - approx £16.

I can never decide if I like this or not - it's much nicer after a couple of hours on my skin!

I've been looking for an EDT to buy my son, he usually wears the original Boss. Is this similar? It seems a very good price
  • Has anyone seen any of the S&G "admit it you want me" sets in the Edinburgh area? TIA.

I didn't think asking would harm or hurt anyone, or i wouldn't have posted.. I do read the first post everytime.. but i can't keep up with all the pages. The whole thread is about finding glitches and people benefiting from them anyway, which is why i thought it was okay to ask.
I don't see why it is all such a big deal when imo it's such a small thing compared to other things in this world.
I'm sorry if you found what i said rude..

I've no intention of going on and on - life goes on.

Becky - I have a busy life. I am a mum to four children, Nanny to two and I have a very full-on day job which take up a great deal of my time. I still do my best to read and post hopefully helpful things and have helped people out off the thread.

"The other things in this world" that you refer to above, are what I deal with in my day job. I don't think it's appropriate for me to talk about it in this forum, but I can assure you that it makes all this nonsense look trivial in comparison.

FWIW - unless you actually want three razors, just buy two and have a gift for £7 or less as your 3rd item in the 3-4-2. And with regard to the Jemma Kidd stuff, unless you are buying on a megapoints event and have lots of total spend/double points coupons etc, it's definitely not so tempting this time around. Last time was like buying free money :)
  • Evening ladies, just catching up backwards on the weekends bootsing antics, and please don't be offended by this but maybe the personal issues could be kept to pm? Not trying to offend anyone, just feel like it needs saying xxx

I'm sure this has been posted before but I was never too sure of it til I tried it.
Did a min £50 spend so got the £10 worth of points but the ACM also does 300 points for £35 spend only for qualifying products. It doesn't state what qualifies (I think things like prescriptions and stamps aren't included) but I tried it and it worked. Yipee! So I ended up with about 1500 points for a £50 odd spend.

Sorry again, i honestly didn't mean to offend/annoy anyone..
Would it be possible to draw a line under this? :)
Btw, thanks for the info.. and i understand what you meant about asking for an update every few weeks. I will make sure i don't do that anymore, as i know most people have to read to know what's happening etc.
