If Boots are practically giving the blueys away they must be disappointed with their profits from the promotion. I think they would have profited a lot more if there weren't so many stipulations on what you can buy. I tried to purchase Olay (I think) Hand cream last week for £6.50 but didnt realise it had to be a facial product. Obviously I hadnt read the bluey properly but I think there are really not enough cheaper products on which to use it - credit crunch and all that!!!

They were my thoughts too when I read AB_KW's post. It's fair to say that the bulk of the people who cash in on Boots vouchers are readers of MSE and are looking for a bargain.

By limiting the range and price of products this time, I think Boots may well have shot themselves in the foot.

I have used one 1 of the skincare blueys and None of the Healthcare, so even taking my conribution into account they are losing out.

Multiply my lack of contribution by 'Y' x Z and it runs into a massive loss for Boots.

Maybe our 'people power' of NOT using the bluies will show results in the next issue of their vouchers. Here's hoping anyway.

So glad I read this b4 I went to buy lunch. I saw the sa not give out a bluey to the woman in front of me so when it was my turn to spend 51p (free meal deal with 2 bottles of coke) I smiled sweetly and asked if they were still giving out blue vouchers, she stammered and magically found one in the till for me.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Quote;

    2 x razors
    1 x 17 lipglosss mini's
1 x 17 GWP smokey eyes tin AND
1 x 17 eye dazzle - used the voucher out of the best mag, BUT sa had to override it as wouldn't scan - Boots must set the tills up only to accept these on christmas evenings or just not bother and instruct staff to put in manually!!

    paid only £7.98

Went to the no7 counter as the lady is lovely and always says hello to the twins - she was interested in why I paid so little and had a look at receipt, I didn't let on I knew about the glitch but she worked it out from looking and was off shopping herself later on!!:p
Can you tell me, as I have the Best voucher for xmas eve shopping - is it confirmed you can use it anytime?

    Thanks

I topped up my phone in Boots this morning and was offered a bluey and I refused it, there's nothing I want with them and I have quite a few in my purse anyway...it's a real let down of a promotion following on from the pinkies

Well, I'd disagree a little with the first statement. I think us MSE Bootsers are in a minority...a significant minority, but still a small one. There are a lot of folk out there who may not know MSE but can still read a coupon and figure out what "£5 off" means. I did better when I started reading the Bootsing threads, but that's not to say I didn't do a lot of Bootsing before that. For every one MSE-er using 20 Boots coupons there will be 100 or more Josephine Publics using one coupon. (And another 500 probably not using any coupons on a regular basis, but that's a different discussion. Like "I wonder how many Boots customers don't have an Advantage Card?" We might be shocked.....)

What you might mean of course is the money saved/amount of freebie stuff gained by MSE Bootsers is a very high proportion of all the gains customers make from vouchers. Well, this might be more true but it's still not going to be the majority. Boots doesn't run these promos for us, they run them for the general public who get the odd free cherry now and again and think this makes it worth while them shopping more in Boots. No. It's cheaper to shop in Superdrug if all you want is a set range of favourite products, a few nice things at Christmas for gifts and put the pennies saved in the money pig. It only works in our favour if we really work the glitches, get the points and use them wisely. And that's hard. But if it worked against Mr Boots for more of us then he'd put a stop to it. He doesn't because despite the failings of his IT department and CS training, he's still making money out of us. Even us. It's worth his while accepting a few customers that get a lot of cherries just to keep the other, less savvy folk coming back for their one cherry.

So while the blue voucher certainly hasn't been much of a sucess when it comes to megabargains it's quite possibly still working as an incentive for many of the the rest of the Boots customer band. Who knows? Maybe this is how it's going to go....it's easy to get one cherry, but hard to get more. If Mr Boots gains 10 Josephines to every one MSE Bootser he loses, he's probably going to be more than happy.

Well my Bootsing has finally rubbed off on my OH - he went out with his boss yesterday lunchtime to buy all the men in the office a Wilkinson Sword razor - he said it gave him a buzz to get such a bargain! He he, now he knows how i feel! Does anyone know how much longer the razor glitch will last, as I promised to get some for my dad and brother. TIA

I meant to look at the card on the items yesterday. If anyone goes today, then the card that says the razors are 1/2 price will have a date on, and that should be when the glitch ends, if Boots don't end it early.

I think it said 2nd december, but thats just a date that seems to be in my head for soem reason.
