Recommendations for a twin tuner PVR?

Can you tell me where I can get a Humax 9200T or 9300T for £119? I'll buy every single one they've got. Does that also include a free aerial upgrade which many people will need?
And there's a far wider amount of channels on Satellite, even taking out the subscription ones.
Got my 9200 from Humax Direct for £109 delivered, " refurbished " but it was actually brand new.
There may well be more free channels on Sky, but they are mainly rubbish, no Dave, no UK History etc.0 -

Less than that from humax direct!

Really when you say "the very last thing I'd want to be doing this year is buying a PVR that doesn't support HD."
Does that also include a free aerial upgrade which many people will need?
Most people do not need an aerial upgrade, only a small percentage!
A Humax can only allow you to record two and watch a third if it's on the same MUX as the two being recorded.
This statement us not true! It has twin tuners, so can record two different channels and watch a third if it is one of the muxes in use.
However I can record 2 and watch a third on the built in freeview in the TV.
The Humax can obviously also do this. You are simply making use of a third tuner!
And there's a far wider amount of channels on Satellite, even taking out the subscription ones.
More crap channels possibly!
In addition, with the increase in HD broadcasts, the very last thing I'd want to be doing this year is buying a PVR that doesn't support HD.

Well I know the Humax are brilliant boxes I doubt they are better than a Humax if anything they could only be as good
The new freesat box by all accounts is far superior to sky+ box from early review of course it isnt out yet so it may not live up to expectations who knows
As you can guess there are a lot of Humax satisfied customers of Humax. Thats because there boxes are very will built and they continue to support its customers
I have 3 Humax and getting a 3rd, both my kids have one, one pvr is about 5 years old and still gong strong. My MIL has a Fox-T box and its 7 years oldSKY+.
And no I'm not mad. Get it on the basic £15 a month subscription. You get a far far better choice of channels and there's not a single PVR that is as good as Sky + and in the first year, the cost is equal.0 -
You are correct a useless PVR if you dont subscribe, very sour grapes on skys parts to stop its old customers even watching previously recorded programs let alone still use it to record none sky channelsIt's also my belief that the Sky+ box stops working as a PVR if you stop paying subscription? In which case, a Sky+ box would have cost me over £700 in the time I've owned my Humax.0

SKY+.

One thing i think Sky+ can't do is record 2 channels and watch a third live channel.
The 9200 can so long as the live watched channel is on the same MUX as one of the recorded ones.NURSE: "Shouldn't it be sterilized, doctor?"

If you are a little bit techie then the the hdd inside the hummie 9200 can easily be re-placed (does negate the warranty though). First thing i did was replace the 160GB with a 500GB.
I've also disconnected the fan (no noise here) and moved the hdd outside the box so it can be easily disconnected and attached to the PC via an IDE-USB connector.
You can then copy your saved tv programmes onto your PC and edit/burn to DVD.NURSE: "Shouldn't it be sterilized, doctor?"

I gather the new Humax use sata HD now rather than IDE. You need a HD that can supports ACE specification0
