Hi Emily - poor you with the glucose tolerance test, I had to have one last time I was pregnant (had no signs of diabetes, they just decided the baby was bigger than it should be, despite me telling them that their dates were wrong, and I was certain of my own dates, which would have meant the baby was the right size....grrrr!).

Did you have to drink a load of something absolutely minging? They brought me something similar to Lucozade at first, and then got huffy when I pointed out I was intolerant to caffeine (I think this was for the glucose test, unless I've confused two separate tests in my head!). Then they brought me something even worse, that was like drinking a pint of syrup (which is probably what it actually was lol).

Good luck with getting everything organised ready for the New Year, don't forget to relax and enjoy Xmas!

Emily I just wanted to add one more thing to the list for you:
    6. Claim your bankcharges back

It really isn't that difficult and certainly worth it. Just think it might clear your overdraft or certainly make a dent in it.

Thank you - I know I must get off my a$$ and do this!! It would definitely bring my debt free date forward!!

That is all part of my 3rd resolution really - I must stop putting things off and just do them!! I am so terrible for thinking 'I'll do it tomorrow' all of the time.

I am going to get the ball rolling with this in the New Year. I will adapt my list of resolutions and add this on :D

I think it must have been the same test - it's disgusting the stuff they get you to drink. It's so sickly and the fact that you haven't eaten for the past 12 hours and have just had a blood test doesn't help. They then carted me off for an x-ray and breathing tests!! Still, I've got some lovely bruises on my arms to be proud of ;) .

I hope you are well :A

Thank you - I have always thought about trying to write a book but I'm always so busy  . Maybe when I have cleared my debts I will start.

We are all so thrilled about my sister. She is having her scan on Wednesday next week so I will try to post her pictures on here somehow - not that you would see much of Little Em just yet.

Here are my revised (and final) New Years Resolutions for 2007:
    1. Earn at least £1,000 from AQA per month to put towards my debts
    2. Clear all my clutter and paperwork and keep it this way.
    3. Stop procrastinating - if something needs doing then I will no longer put it off and just get on and do it.
    4. Keep to my debt clearing plan to ensure that I will be debt free by at least 2009.
    5. Do a good deed every day - what goes around comes around!
    6. Claim back my bank charges from Lloyds TSB and then start on my credit cards.
    7. Don't spend a penny on presents for people in 2007
    8. Learn how to cook!
    9. Get to at least £2,000 in Joshua's Fund.
    10. Be a wonderful Auntie!

Now, the not spending a penny on presents may sound strange but one of the contributing factors to my debt is that I tend to go overboard on buying people gifts. This year I saved for some shopping vouchers which I used to buy the majority of my presents but I'm not doing that next year as this money could go towards my debt instead.

Therefore I am going to try and either win presents for people (this includes birthdays, anniversarys, Easter, Christmas, Mother's day etc etc) or get freebies (like the £20 M&S vouchers for test driving a Kia). I tried to do this for Christmas this year and I did manage to get about 6 people's presents for nothing but I think if I start right at the beginning of the year, then I will be ok. I'm going to create a present box and put any odds and sods that I win or get free in there and then give them to people throughout the year when I need to.

I have promised my boyfriend that I will cook him a lovely meal soon and that's why I want to learn how to cook. My cookery skills are non-existant so I need to get a (cheap) cook book and start learning this. It will also be good for the money saving.

    Let the resolutions begin :D

Thank you - nice to hear from a fellow Emily! My lovely dad named me after a Pink Floyd song. I know some people hate their names but I have always loved mine.

I do loads of comps, mainly online, postal and text. I do them whenever I can, it only takes an hour here and there and if you are quite consistent with the amount of time you put in and the number of comps that you do then the prize stream is quite steady. I belong to a competition website which you have to pay to join but it is so worth it.

I'm going to try and do this with freebies too though. I just popped over to the freebies board and they had a post on freebie bubble baths from Avon. If these come through then I will put these in my present box to start me off :D

Of course you can join me on a few of my resolutions - the more the merrier ;)

    Hi Emily
Your new year resolutions look great.
DONT overdo it on aqua though as your health is much more important.
Pressie box is a great idea.I have one & add to it when I see something i think will suit someone. Its a great help as then you dont have to buy everything in one go.
Good luck with your target for Joshua's fund.
    take care

Emily - you still continue to inspire me, you should write a book.:T
So when someone asks you what your new years resolution is - do you simply state "well I have 10 which one would you like to hear about first!!":rotfl: Well done emily for such inspiring resolutions.
I would love to start a pressie box too for crimbo 07 so can I join you in that one plz. Also I used to do lots of comps a few years ago but gave it up - now you have inspired me to start comping again. Could you help me out with some of the good sites etc and the place you have to subscribe. Is there a comping thread?
    Thanks Emily
