Beautiful kittens and mum cat
Ref the Feliway, I found it didn't start working until I'd had it plugged in for a good 2 - 3 weeks - I had to get a refill for it before I noticed a huge difference when I used it. I don't know if that's normal or if I just have cats who are immune to it though.0 -
Ahh the cats are so cute!
My vet recommended a couple of drops of Bach's rescue remedy in one of our cats water when we were introducing him to the new cat.nothing to see here, move along...0 -
I think the problem with Eppie is she is an old, stubborn lady. She has never interacted well with people or other animals in general. I fear she may be stuck in her ways lol.0

We adopted a very hungry kitten that had found her way to us many years ago. The weird thing was, she was still shaven from being neutered so we wondered if she really was a stray. After lots of time trying to find out if she had a worried owner, and not finding one, she was well settled in by that point.
About 4 years later, my mother got a new tom cat, and our cat (Beenie - hence my username) took an instant dislike to him. Like you said - stuck in her ways. It took a looooooooong time for her to get over herself, and now they get on fine, we never thought the day would come.
On a more related note, my sister had a baby recently, around the time her own cat had kittens so they had to come and live with me, and my tom and the mother had some bad fights while she was here, mainly because the mother was protective of the kittens.
I kept one of the kittens, and they're best pals!
I've also had experience in getting a grown dog (springer spaniel) moving in with us and my grown tom cat - i never thought it would work as my cat (Barney) would just sit and growl, but after a while he got used to it.
Here are the kittens we fostered for my sis:
EDIT: I've just realised the post was 10 days ago - how are they getting on now?
This is Rubble, the one we kept
And this is my tom cat (Barney) and Rubble0 -
I ended up taking the mother & kittens to an animal sanctuary last Monday. I'm still very upset about it, to the point where I cry whenever they are disscussed.
I couldn't have kept them all anyway, far to expensive foodwise & potential vets bills + it was still a tad too early to seperate the mother cat from the 3 kittens.
I have been keeping in email contact with the sanctuary, & the response is they are doing fine. I think they may have homes to go to already! Not my ideal being so close to Christmas, but I guess it's not up to me anymore.
Here is the updated photo album:

Sorry to hear that, sounds like you gave them a brilliant start to life and showed them what it was to be warm, safe and loved. I'm sure the rescue will find them fab forever homes0

You really have done such an amazing job with the mum and kittens! I know how much work and love you put into them. You did everything you possibly could for them, and who knows maybe all the kittens may have died without your wonderfull care?!? You have such a kind heart. Thank you so much for what you have done for them, and in time im sure you will be able to talk about them without tears, knowing that without you who knows what would have happened to them. ((((hugs)))) xxxx0

If you couldn't keep them 'Devil' then they are in the best place for them. They were really lucky to have found you in their hour of need and you should be proud to have given them such a good start. You'll feel sad for a while, but in time you'll be able to remember them and smile.
Well done you & Thank You xxxSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
WOW!! Thanks for all the heart felt comments... got me in tears again0
